Was the Broncos’ problem in their hierarchy, or their coaching?

But I wonder how much autonomy Elway is willing to give his coach. Or does Elway want to dress down Denver players when they give a subpar preseason effort against Seattle and advise Peyton Manning to relax when the veteran quarterback is in a funk?

When John Elway shredded his players over the past few years, was he undermining John Fox's authority? Or was he simply doing for Fox what Fox was either unable or unwilling to do himself? If it was the former, then frankly, it's no wonder Fox got out of Dodge.

Von is a bit of a clown in the locker room. He's always joking around and being silly, playing cards with guys, etc. You've seen his outfits, right? I don't think that's a negative thing. Sometimes it can keep guys loose that get all wound up. He plays with passion though. I didn't read Kiz's article, but if by clown he means it in a derogatory way, as in the pot stuff and all that is affecting how his team mates view him, then Kiz can go suck an egg.

Ya know when the effort and passion is missing, then its both the coaches and players Elway is addressing. Frankly, as a fan its good to know someone can and will lay it out to the team when they give half a damn. Just like we do to the TV. No, Elway also represents all the fans who show up to cheer the team on. If the team/coaches give their very best effort and get beat by a better team in the playoffs then that's on the front office...when they don't stay on their blocks, cant get separation, miss tackles, drop passes, don't adjust and don't play with passion - that's on the coaches.

I would be fine with Dennison. I think he has been exposed to different styles of coaching and systems. I think he would be his own man. He had a different style of coaching the OL when he was here. The players said that he was more quiet - not the get-in-your-face type like Alex Gibbs. But he was effective.
Kubes may be done with wanting to be HC - simply because of the stress - and he wants to live longer than he would if he were HC.

Wtf is Kiszla's problem with Kubiak? And why would I care what Kiz thinks, anyway? If memory serves, Kiz was Josh McDummy's biggest cheerleader/apologist. Seems like his instincts on head coaches might be a bit unreliable.

Agreed. As I posted the Kiszla article yesterday, I can't take a guy seriously who talks abut Orlando Franklin, starter at RT from day one, like Fox never put any faith in him.

I think I may end up being unpopular here, but I am beginning to really like the idea of Rick Dennison as an outside the box hire. Is that because I know we won't get Dan Quinn and Kubiak may be done with being a HC? Potentially. But I also think that he may be the kind of tough-minded coach we need. A guy who can bring us back to the silent offensive line glory days. I've also been drinking.

One thing Kiszla wrote in one of his pieces that kind of ticked me off (and I think Andrew Mason would back me up on this) is him saying the Broncos locker room "had its share of clowns" or something like that, and even named some of them, like Von Miller, etc. (For example) After we'd read all these pieces, heartfelt, about how Von really changed his attitude and his life and worked really hard... Kiszla made it sound like he was the same ol' pothead. Everything I've read elsewhere said different. He named others too, and made it sound like without Del Rio around the clowns could run the show. While I'm not in the locker room it sounded kind of like lazy garbage to me.

Anyway, yeah, I could do with less Kiszla for awhile.
