How to stop Peyton Manning: The Kansas City defense has a tall order this week
The Chiefs have the right combination of personnel and scheme to do battle with Peyton Manning: multiple fronts, a great secondary, the ability to generate extreme pressure with just four or five rushers.
A vicious pass rush and tight man coverage have long been the formula for slowing Peyton Manning and his offense. But the larger issue for Kansas City (and Tanier closes with this same thought) is coming up with enough points of their own to defeat the Broncos.
The Chiefs have scored 16 offensive touchdowns all year (versus 44 for the Broncos). And as puny as that number is, we have to also consider that many of those scores were set up by the KC defense's league-leading 23 takeaways.
