Reilly hiring lip readers isn&#8217t exactly a new thing. Don&#8217t have a source but I remember reading an SI column from him years ago in which he hired one to look at Shanny or some other HC.

it&#8217s not that he invades anyone&#8217s privacy - there isn&#8217t much on a football field, as some kicker performing a sudden drug test (yes, I&#8217m kidding) found out recently. It&#8217s that it&#8217s such a dumb thing to even care about that it calls his level of professionalism into question. He&#8217s run out of real things to write about? Funny. I&#8217ve got a long list I can&#8217t even get to.

CU, I imagine Reilly himself knew what he was doing was absurd and a ridiculous waste of any reader&#8217s time; and in order to get any Tebow-related attention that is currently so thick and heavy these days Reilly feels he has to go to these idiotic extremes. CU (9): I briefly considered the notion that he may have just done it out of professional curiosity. But when you consider the maelstrom of media attention surrounding Tim Tebow, and the struggles of reporters to get some exposure and get above the noise, it&#8217s not hard to draw a conclusion that this was essentially an attempt to dig up dirt on Tebow that could be spun up into the news cycle and intimate that he&#8217s some kind of spiritual fraud. If it wasn&#8217t Reilly&#8217s intent to do so, I&#8217m sure he realized someone else would have exploited it in that way. Either way, it&#8217s shameful.

I don&#8217t understand what the big deal is. People can waste their money on whatever stupid things they want. Reilly wasn&#8217t invading Tebow&#8217s privacy, and the worst that could happen is we all find out Tebow is an adult human, and like most of us adult humans, maybe cusses when he gets pumped up about things (like playing in NFL football games).
