Knowshon Moreno can’t drive 45

Broncos' Knowshon Moreno arrested on suspected DUI

Moreno was stopped on Feb. 1 on Interstate 25 near the Hampden Avenue exit. Investigators say he was going 70 mph in a 45 mph construction zone.

He was driving a Bentley convertible with the license plate: SAUCED.

He was given blood test and arrested.

The personalized license plate is no joke, although, right now, the joke is on the Broncos.

He needs to ditch the Bentley. Look more blue collar.

Maybe he learned something from having to watch most of the season last year.

Posted by John Tomasik on 2012-02-07 16:44:43 I think it's time to trade Moreno. Given that his contract is cap friendly, there should be a few teams who will take a chance on him to see if he can revive his career.

Then I think the Broncos should bring in Kahlil Bell -- he can pass protect and catch the ball, the two things Moreno does well, but Bell is a better runner between the tackles.

Alex is right, though: he's got effective skills - they just aren't the ones that Denver expected. The Bentley with the vanity plate is pretty embarrassing, though. Maybe Kyle Orton can get him a good deal on a Prius after his next contract, which should reflect his level of effectiveness overall.

No, he'll never "live up to the 1st round pick" they used to draft him (not if that means he has to be an every down back). That said, he's a good receiver out of the backfield, dangerous in space (he's a serious big-play threat on screens), and is a great blocker for a RB.

If he can stay healthy, he'll be a good 3rd down back for the broncos, and that can be an important piece of a winning puzzle (remember all the passes Lance Ball dropped last year).

He's not Adrian Peterson or MJD. He could definitely fill a Darren Sproles/Kevin Faulk/Reggie Bush/Mike Tolbert - type of role, though. It's be foolish to cut a player with some very useful skills just because he's not an all pro.
