The NFL suspended Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison one game without pay for his helmet-to-helmet hit Thursday night on Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy…Harrison becomes the first player to be suspended for a helmet-to-helmet hit at a time when the NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has attempted to enforce enhanced player safety rules.

They should probably suspend the Browns medical and coaching staffs too...

If it wasn&#8217t Harrison that did it, this one is a pretty minor fine. This is more of a &#8220you have a history of this, and it&#8217s going to cost you&#8221.

As for Suh, he hit the guys helmet several times, while on the ground, then kicked a guy that was on the ground. Not as dangerous, but so far out of bound for acceptable conduct, you have to bring the hammer down hard.

The Harrison suspension is debatable. The medical staff putting the guy back in when he was clearly out cold for a spell is nuts. I was interested to see McCoy&#8217s father go to the media with his displeasure over how the staff handled his son. If Archie Manning can raise a ruckus over who drafts Eli, I&#8217m happy to see fathers standing up for the actual well-being of their sons.

Harrison is literally a head hunter, who is out to be the first to actually kill someone on the field. I&#8217d have suspended him longer. If he does it again, he&#8217s in Todd Bertuzzi territory and the DA should start paying attention, not just the league.

What the Browns staff did was wrong beyond doubt. What I don&#8217t get is that Suh gets a two game for a stomp and Harrison goes for the head when he could of easily hit in the chest. Even harder to believe is the fact that Harrison&#8217s excuse was even lamer than Suh&#8217s? League office should have told him see ya next year! I got a better idea let McCoy hit Harrison in the head with a bat, oops I thought it was a ball.
