12-19-11 The John Elway Show Part 1
“He’s got a get a feel for the game and where his matchups are…it’s always a work in progress…but Tim threw the ball pretty good yesterday…they’re going to keep their eyes on Tim…when you do run the option they way we have, there’s always the chance of putting the ball on the ground.”
Another week, another John Elway interview in which he tries to avoid saying much of anything. Can't say I blame him. He did confirm something that we've known all along, however--namely, that Tom Brady already knows where he's going with the football before the play even beings: "He knows what's coming early...He's able to get all of those reads early."
On a few other subjects, Elway said the Broncos "hold our destiny in our hands," and that he doesn't regret his decision to let Kyle Orton go: "Nope. Not at all...we made the move that was best for the Broncos at that time."
I don't buy the last part about Orton. If the Broncos lose to the Chiefs in the last week of the season, he may not say it, but Elway will indeed regret it. Who wouldn't?
