Williamson: Jack Del Rio, Rex Ryan possible Raiders candidates

According to Bill Williamson, Broncos DC Jack Del Rio figures to be among the favorites to fill Oakland's head coaching vacancy. Also mentioned are Cardinals DC Todd Bowles and soon-to-be-fired LOLJets coach Rex Ryan.

Mike Klis adds that Del Rio and Adam Gase could potentially interview for head gigs on Tuesday, Saturday, or Sunday, with Denver on a bye.

Interim coach Tony Sparano claims he will get an interview; there are few potential outcomes more comedic than Sparano sticking as the head coach.

As for Ryan, he was said to be miffed about his limbo-like status. In typical LOLJets fashion, Ryan's agent, Jimmy Sexton, reportedly received calls for other clients to replace Ryan in New Jersey. Our own dream of having Rex take over for Del Rio appears unlikely, as Buddy's kid says he won't take a coordinator position next year.

In what figures to be Ryan's last game with New Jersey, the LOLJets prevailed 37-24 over Miami, as Geno Smith became the only QB to post a perfect passer rating. Dolphins wideout Mike Wallace achieved elite glory boy status during the game, reportedly quitting on his team before halftime.

In addition to Ryan, GM John Idzik is expected to be axed, in which case, Sticks Johnson will reportedly hire both Charley Casserly and Ron Wolf as consultants. Nothing like having two chefs running the kitchen...
