Where you been, TB?

Hello, friends.  I’m back on the scene, and I know from a lot of the inquiries I received, I’ve been missed by a few of you.  I kind of took an unexplained vacation from writing, and here I am again.  Well, here’s the deal.  When I originally decided to launch my own site, I had some grand plans.  Then, some stuff in my life changed, and I didn’t have time to do all the wonderful things that I originally wanted to do.

Now, I still want to write about football, but I’m not make-a-million-bucks committed to doing so.  So, this simple little site will be my vehicle for writing about football when I have the time and the inclination to do so.  Given that, people who have the time and inclination to read my work can do so.

I liked Drupal, but there was a lot of site maintenance and technical minutiae that I was constantly having to focus on, which I felt detracted from my ability to most effectively write about football.  Frankly, a lot of the technical challenges made me not enjoy the process as much as I had on SBNation, where the site pretty much just worked.  My solution to this has been to launch this simple WordPress blog, and let my writing be my writing, and the technology be somebody else’s problem.

I’m excited about this upcoming football season, and I have a lot of things I want to start discussing in the coming days.  I was on Twitter last night (follow me @TedBartlett905), and that was a first step back into the season.  Check me out from time to time, and feel free to tell your friends to do the same.
