Enjoy the games, and Go Broncos!!!

Yanno, this might seem weird or selfish or maybe some here might think I’m actually a fan of another team but posing as a Broncos fan, but I have to say after the first two touchdowns, I started laughing, and I actually have been smiling and laughing whole-heartedly all afternoon! I think the demolition of the Broncos today illustrated to me that it’s just a game, and I’m not a Bronco. When push comes to shove, I could give a rat’s butt about the Broncos. They’re not where I earn my money. In fact, it’s just a game. It’s not even important, in the grand scheme of things.
Oh, btw, I changed the brakes and oil on my car, washed it, fixed a broken mirror on it, and all while listening to the game instead of sitting at the tube wasting 3 hours of my day, or even worse than that, blowing $400 watching a company provide crappy quality.
Thanks a lot, Broncos, for setting me straight. Before I spend another cent on that team, they’d better start putting quality product on the field for my positive entertainment.
And, I have to say that I am seriously starting to believe that McD is not worthy of a head coaching position. They finish less than 8-8, which is beginning to look like reality, Bowlen should fire McD and pay for a proven coach, not some cheap route in an industry where others are willing to pay for quality product for their fans/consumers.
󈬽. Chibronx Oct 24, 2010 6:41 PMI’ll put the question out there: Is a beatdown like this bad enough to occasion a reassessment of the entire program? I’m a patient guy and I’ve liked the new admin, a lot. But debacles like this make me ask if I’ve been a fool.”
You summed up my feelings exactly. I have supported this regime because i knew the old one had to leave and it had run its course. I am sitting here tonight depressed. I pay about $600 a year to watch the Broncos on DirecTV and on my iPhone. I hope for a competitive effort and some old Mile High magic, i get a feeling each week can we even win.
I expected this weeks result to come last week and i was happy we had a chance last week but this loss is humiliating and definitely causes me to wonder, if this is the right group to carry on the name Denver Broncos. On the other side, we have built this team around McDaniels system and I am afraid a new coach would have to completely reassemble this roster and that means a few years of this again possibly.
Chibronx, that is not an unreasonable question. I’ve not been particularly happy or unhappy with McDaniels. He’s taken a mediocore team and remodeled it into a mediocre team. The previous mediocre team was on the decline: I can’t decide if this one is on the decline or the rise.
Not particularly good play calling on either side the ball. On the other hand, I’m pretty sure McDaniels didn’t call for an INT and a fumble on the first two plays from scrimmage.
I really don’t think they let that Jets game go. They didn’t look prepared for this one.
It will take a long time of success to get me to believe that the enver Brncs have anything that resembles a D, or an O.
I just saw one of the cheerleaders sitting on a 5 gallon Gatorade cooler with her elbows on her knees smoking a cigarette. I think she gave up.
I don’t know chi, I could have written your comment, too. And have no answers. I’ve been a believer and think they’ve been making a lot of good moves. But this kind of game does make you wonder if they have totally lost their mojo and the plan isn’t working. If they win a bunch of games after this and move on to contend then it can be looked at as an anomaly since they’ve been in just about every other game this season win or lose. But it is very fair to ask that. The only positive at all is that maybe they needed a wake up call because enough things were still not working. There is blame to go around all over for this one, from injuries and not enough of the right personnel to match up from game to game, to planning on D and O and of course turnovers. But we will see what kind of character this team has from now til rest of season. I don’t blame people for being angry after today, is all I’ll say, even as patient as I am still trying to be.
Oh, I said I was leaving, sorry… house cleaning and a nap, both more pleasant possibilities than thinking about this game.
This team has given up. Pathetic.
I’ll put the question out there: Is a beatdown like this bad enough to occasion a reassessment of the entire program? I’m a patient guy and I’ve liked the new admin, a lot. But debacles like this make me ask if I’ve been a fool.
This has ruined my day and week. Enough. Good bye all, thanks for being good company. Hope they bring a different game to London next week and check with you then.
I would have gone for it as well but it bothered me as well. 52-14. Nice
The OL is an embarrassment today. And why oh why do the Raiders play the games of their lives against Denver and no one else? I really don’t get it.
At least Gaffney is appropriately ticked off. Nothing like seeing the Raiders celebrate on your field all day.
It bothered me as well.
going for it on 4th down and goal up by this much? Obnoxious or the right call?
Another TD! Woo hoo! Just need like 4 TO’s and they’re back in it. -Hah hah, Butte. I similarly just told my g/f to add some xanax to the chocolate cake she’s making.
I’m so ashamed. I knew the Jets game would throw them off this one, but I didn’t think it would be this bad.
OK, I went and drank some hair tonic, and polished the dog. Now I feel better, and I’m ready for more!
Hey at least I have an excuse to get after that Xanax my wife has stashed away for plane trips!
COMEBACK ALERT! <img alt="LOL" height="19" src="http://www.singernet.com/images/smileys/lol.gif" style="border:0;" width="19">
Sorry, I meant lockout. This game makes me want to either strike or lockout. <img alt="hmmm" height="19" src="http://www.singernet.com/images/smileys/hmm.gif" style="border:0;" width="19">-But hey, a touchdown! Woo hoo!Not sure why they’re celebrating that much, but hey we’ll take it.
Fouts just had the funniest remark I’ve ever heard. To paraphrase: one of the advantages to playing at altitude is that you wear down your opponents.
I guess if you let them run up and down the field, and score 38 points, they won’t have anything left.
At least that game started off well for Denver, O&B. Just wish it had stopped after it was 10-0 Denver. Wish this one had stopped before it started. I do admit, I half expect to see Lilly out there in the defensive backfield.
Onsides kicks all day!!!!
Dude, it’s not a strike, it’s a lockout. Opposite of a strike.
Hah, nice theory Orange, I like it. Can we fast forward to the draft and then post-strike football? Or at least past this game? <img alt="hmmm" height="19" src="http://www.singernet.com/images/smileys/hmm.gif" style="border:0;" width="19">
TJ, the Redskin-Broncos Super Bowl 1st half was pretty bad. Though at least we scored once.
Say…if we can cut it to 35 at halftime we get the ball to start the 3rd quarter. Another 3 there and we’ve got a game!!!!
well, on the positive side, I can work in a halloween reference…...don’t think I’ve ever seen a worse half in Broncos history
My theory is that the new CBA will allow anyone who loses a home game to Oak will be awarded extra 1st rd picks.
I have a hypothesis:Both the Chargers and Broncos know they have no shot at the Superbowl. Therefore, they’re letting KC run away with the division, and fighting each other for a top draft pick.
Dude… no one’s died? No zombie attack?I got nothing else.
You’ve GOT to pick up that fumble. Sheezus.
TJ, our punt coverage has been pretty good.
way ahead of you ‘dog. Is Eddie not open? THROW HIM THE BALL!
Anyone got anything positive I can write for my Gut Reactions?
I don’t have one bullet yet….no seriously.
OMG! They got a sack! They stopped them on downs! OMG!
Sorry for sarcasm—you gotta laugh, right? And you gotta start somewhere, right? You gotta drink heavily, right?
I’d blame Wink and Josh for some of this, the injuries on D for some of it, and now the defense has also been on the field way too much because the offense is having a rare terrible performance.
Seriously DC, Fouts hates the Broncos so much he’s even a Raiders homer! Though it’d be hard to say much nice about Denver today, frankly. I’m sure halftime speech will be… interesting.
What do say at the end of something like this?
Need a turnover…by the Raiders.
I ve seen all I can take. have good day my friends 31-0
Good thing I am not the owner, I would consider firing McDaniels at halftime….......
We can’t run, we can’t pass, we can’t stop the run and we can’t stop the pass. But on the bright side, at least we don’t have a lot of injuries….......oh wait.
Well at least Demayrius Thomas just made a nice run back…... oh no it wasn’t he only got to the 10.
Good Lord. I’ve not seen anything like this since Wade Phillips was coach. I am not happy.
And to add injury to insult, the announcers are wearing their Raiders Logo Underoos.
Is wink’s defense that bad??????????
I’ve never felt so sick to my stomach watching a game. My g/f just asked why I was still watching it if it was making me so upset. Not a great answer back but I said it’s like a car accident, can’t stop looking away. The whole team looks drunk.
Or maybe they already left for London and these are their holograms?
“the Oakland Raiders are putting on an exhibition” - Ian Eagle
That made me laugh out loud while crying on the inside.
chibronx, I am going to join you. Need some air.
I believe the number of expletives coming out of McDaniel’s mouth at halftime will make Rex blush.
As the eternal optimist, I still think if we hold them to a FG, 2 TDs can bring us to 13 pts at the half with the ball.
At least they are finally calling all the Raiders holding penalties.
The 4-3 seemed to work last week. The 3-4 certainly doesn’t, today.
Bad D and turnovers. The Raiders have run up more than 200 yards in a quarter, and been gifted good field position repeatedly. I’ve never seen anything like this. And now I am going out for a walk.
Same here Doug…...its frustrating…...........can we just surrender?
I have nothing positive to say. I don’t think I have ever said that. Well…at least it’s early.
Not to pick on small things relatively but is it just me or are the Raiders holding on a lot of downs and not being flagged for it?
We do know that A) we can hit the QB or B) we can cover some one right?
I’ve only seen stuff like this on Madden…
I would like to say that the Broncs can come back, but the Broncs D looks absolutely terrible and completely unable to stop anything the Raiders throw at them.
I always said that the second half of this season was going to be the beginning of the test of what McD did with his changes. I’ll allow McD that much, but like the Broncs are showing right now, I don’t think McD is showing signs he has no answer to put together a Super Bowl team.
The boo’s are out, and McD I’m sure is hearing it loud and clear.
This smells like the 55-10 SF Super Bowl! Well maybe it just smells…...................
󈬈. jayrockstone Oct 24, 2010 4:50 PMOn the bright side, if this keeps up, a lockout wonât hurt nearly as bad.”
That is funny, thanks I needed that!
Victory! We held them to a FG! Woo hoo! Well it does feel like a victory. If there were like 2 less touchdowns before it things would look less like Bleak House. Broncos are getting the Dickens beat out of them.
Go figure, we blitz now. It worked (held them to FG), but it could’ve worked plenty of other times during the season.
Orton needs to broaden his shoulders.
On the bright side, if this keeps up, a lockout won’t hurt nearly as bad.
I will say that this game is far from over. We can overcome this if we can make it a 10-14 pt game at the half.
They had the team totally prepared and fired up last week vs the Jets despite all the injuries, were outmanned and still almost won. I don’t understand what’s happened today but I assume they are capable of playing that way again. Why last week they were and not this week I don’t know. They are missing a ton of key players on defense but coaching staff absolutely has to take some of the blame for not consistently having them ready.
Dennis, I’m about to puke from what I saw. But what do you mean about it being the coaching staff AGAIN w/r/t heads not being in a big game? The heads have been in all the big games so far, and only against the Ravens were the bodies unwilling.
I am more frustrated by how easily the defense seems to be getting yanked around on misdirection. That looks like a coaching issue to me.
Same here and that 4th down play didn’t calm me down at all.
Oakland has the intensity we should have.
I will be interested in how we finish before I make too many judgements.
My Gut reactions right now are pretty bad, though!
I will be one of them TJ. He has not showed me enough in the last 16 games to convince me any longer he is the man for the job.
I have stood by McDaniels since day one, I do not believe in him and his leadership anymore. The Raiders are our hated rivals, he doesn’t even understand that.
Our heads are not in a big game, that is one the coaching staff AGAIN
Here we go. Let’s go Broncos. Suck it up and make it happen.
Oh man…Mr. McDaniels better get his team in shape or he’s gonna be out of a job.
Sad but true Dude. :-(
After this start hard to blame them, not that you can blame him entirely for both the injuries and the whole team looking flat and rather dense, since I know he had them remembering last year’s game. But still.
But yeah, hey, if Ravens can come back vs Buffalo (and vice versa) anything can happen.
This 1st quarter literally has made me queasy.
Agreed. Talk of the team “leaving the building” will echo if a blowout occurs. We miss Dawkins badly.
If the Raiders blow the Broncos out today, expect many fans to start the Josh McDaniels countdown
Holy bejeezus! The Broncs today are making Cutler look good. Uh oh!!!
I can’t believe it. 2 turnovers and one blown play. Just unbelievable.
Well this game could not have started worse. Seriously. :-( What a disastrous way to begin.
Can they come back? Of course. But better wake the heck up. Or it’s all over thin man. <img alt="hmmm" height="19" src="http://www.singernet.com/images/smileys/hmm.gif" style="border:0;" width="19">
Oh, man. If you make it THAT easy…
I’m so nervous, it’s not funny. Come on, Broncos…
The Bills have a chance, UD!
I don’t feel bad for Cutler. I feel bad for the Buffalo Bills. :-( They were shocking the Ravens today and then appear to have run out of gas. 0 and 6 man, not fun.
Roddy White is who Demaryious can turn into.
Crazy games so far. GO JAGS! GO BILLS! GO STEELERS! (draft purposes)
So… with the niners it seems you let them score 1 touchdown and they go into hiding
I’d feel bad for Cutler if he had an ounce of heart, but he looks like a scolded dog out there. He’s liable to start weeping at any moment…
Chicago - Washington is definitely the game to watch if you like to see QB’s treated like Pinatas…
I almost feel sorry for Jay Cutler—well, almost.
My theory is that next week the niners and the entire bay area will be too distracted by the world series to play well.
