Report: Miller enlisted urine collector to help him beat system

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen, Broncos All-Pro linebacker Von Miller attempted to cheat the NFL's drug testing system with the help of a starstruck urine collector.

Per the report, Miller had the collector - who's since been fired - submit another person's urine in place of Von's.

But in Keystone Kop fashion, the faulty chain of custody was brought to light when a second collector realized Von wasn't in Miami, where the sample was said to have been provided. (Pure speculation here, but perhaps Miller incriminated himself by posting his true location on Twitter?)

According to Mort and Schefter, it's the collector's willing participation in the charade that helped Von avoid the full-season suspension the NFL had been seeking.

Instead, Miller is serving a six-game ban and will be eligible to return for Denver's Week 7 trip to Indianapolis.
