According to Mike Klis, Jack Del Rio interviewed for the vacant USC head coaching job during Denver's bye week.
JDR's met with his alma mater on Friday, November 1, a day before the health scare that sidelined John Fox and made Del Rio the Broncos' interim coach.
While colleges are not required to seek permission to interview NFL personnel, USC AD Pat Haden apparently did so, which Klis says was appreciated by the Broncos.
We're guessing that Fox would go outside the organization to replace Del Rio, should he leave for USC or an NFL head gig, but linebackers coach Richard Smith is always a possibility as well.
Earlier in the week, ESPN's Travis Haney reported that Southern Cal is willing to pay up to $6M per year to land Lane Kiffin's replacement.
