Report: Broncos hire Fred Pagac to coach outside linebackers

According to Alex Marvez, the Broncos have hired longtime college and NFL assistant Fred Pagac (PUG-itch) to coach their outside linebackers. Since 1978, Pagac has coached linebackers for Ohio State, Oakland, Kansas City, Minnesota, and Buffalo, also holding defensive coordinator duties for the Buckeyes and Vikings.

In Denver, the former Bears and Bucs tight end will have the great fortune of coaching up Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware.

Denver also hired a new special teams assistant last week, as Tony Coaxum made a lateral move from Baltimore, where he worked with Gary Kubiak. 2014 was Coaxum's first year on an NFL staff; the West Point grad coached at Army from 2007 to 2013.

Coaxum will work under Joe DeCamillis, who is starting his second stint with the Broncos.
