Report: Bears to sign Will Montgomery

A day after the Broncos agreed to acquire Gino Gradkowski to compete at center, former starter Will Montgomery appears headed to Chicago to join John Fox and Adam Gase, according to the Tribune. Along with signing Montgomery, the Bears are expected to release longtime starter Roberto Garza.

Once Montgomery officially leaves, Denver's only remaining unrestricted free agents will be Quinton Carter and Wes Welker. Demaryius Thomas was tendered at the franchise level, while John Youboty was nontendered as an ERFA.

Meanwhile, Troy Renck reiterates that the Gradkowski trade pends a team physical on Thursday, before it becomes official. As Renck notes, prior knee injuries may be a concern for the Broncos, who agreed to send their 2016 fourth-rounder to Baltimore in return for the fourth-year player and the Ravens' 2016 fifth-rounder.

In other center news, former Oakland pivot Stefen Wisniewski visited with New England and Jacksonville this week. He previously met with Seattle, Chicago, and Tampa Bay and is said to be seeking around $4M/year.
