Rapoport: Fox, Del Rio, Gase figure to engage in tug of war over assistants

With Jack Del Rio, Adam Gase, and John Fox splitting off in different directions, Ian Rapoport says a battle over current Broncos assistants figures to break out.

Denver's next head coach is going to want to pick his own staff anyway, but who knows - maybe he'll want to keep someone like strength coach Luke Richesson.

Maybe Greg Knapp (quarterbacks) stays. Clancy Barone (tight ends) and Eric Studesville (running backs) have been around since Josh McDaniels hired him. This is, of course, all pure uninformed guesswork.

Chances are, a few of the incumbent assistants figure to stick around, and Fox, Del Rio, and Gase will fight over the rest. If Gase is promoted, then maybe more assistants stay.

What about the players, though?

Brandon Krisztal, for one, thinks Terrance Knighton may follow JDR to Oakland.
