Poll: Which AFCW rival do you hate the most?

With the Raiders having stolen Charles Woodson from under the Broncos' noses, there are already some great comments today regarding rivalries and hatred. We might as well collect some data to match, right?

So, go ahead and vote, and please explain your choice in the comments.

I saw an article years ago saying that most of those black hole thugs were respected professionals in the area.

Go figure much like barrel man doing his thing.

Do you beleive that those morons in OAK would dress like that if the cameras did not show them?

Of course they would it is the game day experience for them, our compliant is not about them but the producers and directors of the crews that should by chastised.

Write CBS, fox and the other stations that are stupid.

Tell them enough it is not like it is NEWS anymore.

I guess I dislike them for their dirty playing and being proud of it.

They had lead the league in penalties for decades because of it and most years have lost many games because of it.

Why someone did not end that insanity long ago is beyond rational thought.

Oh yes aldavis.. No rational thought there, from suing the league you are part owner of to drafting players based on their 40 times.

He was a hell of an coach, GM and owner before the dementia set in.

They had some great teams that you had to respect and sometimes fear all the while hating them.

For a long time I figured that if the Broncos finished 8-8 and beat the Raiders twice - it was a successful season. With Manning at the helm - I have my sights set higher: 6-0 in the division and 8-2 elsewhere.

The Raiders, for a zillion reasons ... historical, traditional, divisional, diametrical, legal, familial, and damnably personal. 1977 was the year I became a Bronco fan, and the game this site took its name from was the first football game I remember seeing. The Chargers are merely pretenders to this particular throne, just as they are to any other.

My favorite Tomlinson moment came in Week 6 of the 2009 NFL season, when the Broncos and Chargers squared off in San Diego. In the first half, Norv Turner called a middle run by Darren Sproles from the Denver two-yardline on third down, which went nowhere. Tomlinson was completely miffed that his number was not called; he was stomping and pouting on the sideline like a four-year-old. Payback for how badly he destroyed us in 2006.

I completely agree with pretty much everything you said. So much hate for so much of the rest of the league, with the raiders chiefs and chargers always occupying the top of the list. I think we need a team hatred power ranking that is updated annually (or monthly?). For me, the special raider hatred was ingrained in my youth and has become a part of my DNA, unwavering regardless of how bad they suck. Their fans are just the worst. chefs next. I certainly hate the chargers, but something about them doesn't inspire the same level of hatred I have for the other two in the division. Maybe its because norv was so dopey, or the fact that their fan base is so apathetic.

I hate the raiders. So much so, that I almost don't want to give them the distinction of hating them the most because it's something they would be proud of.

My brother and I ranked every team in the order of which we hate them. We did it a couple of years ago, so we'll have to update it but NE and Baltimore are pretty high on the list. The steelers in recent years have dropped a little since we've started to own them. Of course the chiefs and the chargers are right up there, maybe a step below NE and Baltimore. It's a year to year thing. If it were an all time hate list, then it would be raiders, chiefs, charges as 1, 2, 3. Regular season losses count less than playoff losses and even less than Superbowl losses. I still hate the 49ers, redskisns, and giants, mostly the 49ers and redskins as the giants loss wasn't as much of an embaressement.

I also dislike the jaguars for our 1997 playoff loss, but their such a bad team lately that I almost feel sorry for them...almost...no, not really, fuck those guys.

I dislike the Cowboys. America's team? Really? Go "F" yourself.

In recent years it was the Chargers for me because they were owning us during the Cutler era. But with San Diego back on the decline, it's Oakland again.

Seems like the Raiders are the obvious chose.

Chiefs. It's because of the fans.
Chargers fans are to be pitied, Raiders fans are to be quarantined or maced (your choice!), but Chiefs fans just suck. They are like University of Texas fans- obnoxiousness is way out of proportion to the quality of the franchise. It will be a grim day when they figure out a quarterback isn't a book you buy in the supermarket checkout lane.

I got to see LDT close up for his entire career. He started out simple, humble, and easy to like. Great guy right up until he set the season TD record (against the Broncos, to my chagrin and SD fans' great joy). His attitude took a severe downturn after that, as did his performance and injuries. I love sending the pic of him shrouded in a jacket on the sidelines during the playoffs when I'm trash talking SD fans/friends.

Right now it goes:

Raiders: Hate em the most even when they suck. Fans are stupid, and the losers get blacked out half the time. I'm going to relish us killing them for the next two years because they do seem to be getting smarter. But having a competent team in the division wouldn't be the worst thing and it would make the rivalry a but more fun.

Chiefs: Just personally know a lot of them and they are the worst. They thought last year Cassel would kill it for them just the same as they think Smith will make them a contender this year. They are the most overconfident fans when their joke franchise hasn't won a playoff game in 20 years.

Chargers: They were number one when they were a good team. Now that they suck and LT is gone (whom I begrudgingly respected/hated, a la Manning when he was a colt) I couldn't care less about them. They suck and will for the next 3 years. Not scared of McCoy hurting us.

I too hate all of them, but the wife is a chiefs fan (sadly), so I hate them slightly less. Phillis Rivers is a douche-bag I can't stand, and the raiders seem like they've always got fans that should have been picked off by now from natural selection, but they always find a way to slither back. To top it all off, I went to college with 3 good friends that were each a chiefs, chargers and raiders fan, so at least that was interesting. I chose not to capitalize their names on purpose. Go Broncos!

This is exactly how I feel about it as well. It looks like San Diego may be plummeting now and the Raiders may be getting their sh!t together, so maybe in a year or two it will just go back to all being on the Raiders and order will be completely restored in life.

It has to be the Raiders. They're the Raiders. The dumb ways their fans dress up, their supposed thuggery, their self-anoited greatness, the original Fat Man and his haircut. The way their stupid fans are everywhere.

I have a good friend who is a Chargers fan, and he's such a tool about it. Also, Philip Rivers is just the worst. So I almost chose them. But it's gotta be the Raiders.

I'm biased to vote for Raiders since they're the closest team to me and I've been to a couple of Broncos games there which were about as bad a sport viewing experience as I've had. Horrible place, horrible fans, plus a recent history of stealing some games from Broncos even when they were otherwise crummy (and a less recent history of being very good--and they may be so again within 2 years).

I pretty much can't stand the other teams--Chargers came closest for me, since I find their fanbase generally smug and obnoxious, and the team's management makes me mad even if it's also meant mismanagement that's put them in a poor spot right now.

For me: The Chiefs. They have, in my Broncos watching lifetime (from when I was around 6 or so - 1982 to current) provided the biggest threat to my team's immortality.

I've always felt like the post 1970's Denver/Oakland rivalry was in the stands, not on the field. I feel the same about the more recent Chargers rivalry, except in the Cutler years, that really was a rivalry for a few games there.

Yes, the Raiders have a historical rivalry with Denver. I'll be shocked if they don't win here. I think the Raiders/Broncos rivalry is considered the best historical rivalry of the AFC West by the mainstream. The Chargers have been better as of late than the other two opposing franchises, and have been utterly hate-able, especially Merriman and Rivers (LDT crushed our teams but he was a class act compared with the others). But calling that a rivalry is like calling the Boston Red Sox - Tampa Bay Rays a rivalry. Yes, they won some big games in the past 6 or so years, but where were they in the last 30+ years beyond a few assorted seasons?

But I chose the Chiefs. Why?

KC seemed to be our primary threat in the years that Denver brought the noise. Especially in the 1990's when we had #7 and his unending quest for a Lombardi. DT and Neil Smith were a force. Marcus Allen always found the endzone. Stoyo drove a nail into my heart with a game winner in 1997 that damn near ruined my year. Marty and Gunther were both good coaches. Hell, if not for a few amazing plays by Denver's secondary in the 1997 AFC Divisional, Elway may have retired and never won a ring. Later even, there was the whole Eddie Kennison thing. There was the embarrassing Dante Hall game. And lastly, there is always Arrowhead in November/December. I've been to Arrowhead multiple times. Great fans (a lot like Broncos fans) and a stadium that has a Mile High Stadium vibe.

Sure, they've been down lately, but the Chiefs get this fan's blood boiling.

Raiders without a doubt. I can't decide what I hate most about the Raiders, so I'll call it a tie between their criminally stupid fans, their Yo-Ho-Ho uniforms, or their slimy, degenerate malcontent bunch of players.

I hate the Chiefs the most. For one thing, their fans are quite nasty in their own right. I can remember a bunch of them leaning over the railing dropping F-bombs on Neil Smith after the Broncos eliminated their team of choke artists from the playoffs in 1997.

More than anything, though, they're just such frauds. Hate the Raiders or hate them, you have to respect their history. The Chiefs have won a single Super Bowl. It happened a million years ago and like all Minnesota Super Bowl wins it carries an implied asterisk.

Has any team in the AFC West been projected as division champions only to screw the pooch when the season starts more times? When was the last time that happened with Kansas City? I wonder...oh yeah, last year. Instead they finished with the worst record in football. No team blows more smoke up the asses of their fan base than the Chiefs. And they have always received more national attention than they deserve. Ask any of their five Pro Bowlers last season.

RAIDERS...Always have been...always will be...even when I was a Ram's fan (born in SoCal) before they moved to St Louis in 1994 (the year I became a Broncos fan, which gave me reason to hate the Raiders even more!!!).

When Phillip Rivers became the starting quarterback for the San Diego Chargers in 2006, they became the biggest villain in my eyes. Couple that with the fact that the Raiders have been so bad since 2002, there was no doubt that San Diego was enemy number one. That said, the Raiders have historically always been my most hated team because of everything about their team and the majority of their fans. If the Raiders become a worthy foe again, they will again be the most hated team. The Kansas Chiefs are a rival, but there is more respect there from me for the type of organization and fan base they have.

To sum up my hate list from the other thread. The Raiders claim 3 of the top 4 spots. They're just so, Raiderish. The Whale's Vagina comes next, because... Phyllis Rivers. And KC is a distant 3rd in rival hate ratings... I don't know why, but they just don't bother me near as much as the others.
