But you failed to recognize that tannys teams lost evry playoff game EXCEPT that NE game (IMO a trap game for them) and the super bowl years when they had John, TD and a raft of other pro bowlers as well as a few HOF guys.
Once those guys left it was one and done(except NE) and even then most of the day in the AFFCG PIT defenders were in the backfield before Jake got to set for passing.
I know there is a very loyal tanny fan base here still and while I will be forever great full for the two rings, IMO he should have moved on immediately afterward because of his crappy at best GM moves. All that did was win some unimportant regular season games and bought him time to drive the team into the ground.
But go ahead and support the loser I jumped off that wagon about 2003 when I figured out what he was doing.
Ummm... In 2005 they had home field advantage, and beat New England in the second round (giving Tom Brady his first ever playoff loss), before losing to Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship game. Hardly a one and done.
You've repeated that misinformation a number of times on this website.
And like in 96 and then again in the 05 season one and done in the playoffs because the players won with smoke and mirrors during the season and got their asses kicked in the playoffs because in the playoffs finesse usually gets its ass kicked by the real teams with bigger and better players.
He is a great between the 20's coach and usually with great starts and then the smaller bodies just can not compete with the consistent playoff teams. PIt , Bal and yes NE.
As I said fade down the line. As for last year they started slow because they had a rookie QB. Then no one had an answer for a gifted player TILL the playoffs where the big boys come to play. Plus IIRC RG got injured and IMO a better true QB flat did not have the Experience to carry the team.
Actually they faded well before the stretch this year. Last year they won 6 of their last 7 to get into the playoffs after going 3-6. But I don't see that happening this year.
Just one more example of tannys teams fading down the stretch, been doing it for decades.
