Drew, I love the point about multiple reads. If your one receiver is covered Tebow doesn&#8217t have a second read to move to and everything just turns into a scramble drill. I found it interesting that struggled with overthrowing everything in this game. Nothing in the dirt. So maybe there is hope in an adjustment for next week to something in the middle (where the receiver is).

I just don&#8217t know how you evaluate a guy who plays like he did in the first 55 minutes vs. the guy in the last five. Those last 5 minutes show an NFL ready quarterback, the first 55 show a guy who shouldn&#8217t even be playing D1 football. It says to me that the litany of criticisms people put up about him are bunk. The only thing you can really say for sure about him is that he struggles (mightily) with consistency. If he can&#8217t address that, then he isn&#8217t a starter in the NFL.

I&#8217ve got to say that hopefully this game at least puts to rest the BS some spout about Tebow looking for his first read and then just pulling down the ball and running. There were a lot of instances where he completed passes after or while scrambling. CLEARLY keeps his eyes downfield, at least a majority of time. So I hope we&#8217re done hearing THAT, anyway.

What a wild comeback. Can&#8217t do that every week obviously. Just hope the coaching staff gets a little more adaptive with their play calling.

Drew, I must be equally stimulated b/c I understood what u wrote.

I think there were plenty of reasons for the &#8220offensive&#8221 performance today. Miami had a much better pass rush than we could handle it appeared. Tebow hung on to the ball for too long in several instances, but he&#8217s got to do that create some plays he does.

However, the greatest thing I saw was how the team believed it could win late in the 4th. At no such time did we act that way with Orton. The defense will not give up now if it falls behind. The &#8220magic&#8221 may return.

2 career 4th qtr comebacks in 4 career starts, not bad. I feel this is the way it will be from now on. Be still my heart.

This was one of those where you need to be there or need the coaches&#8217 tape to know who played bad and who didn&#8217t. A lot of the Tebow sacks fell under the &#8216coverage&#8217 umbrella, but its impossible to tell on TV whether Tebow was failing to find open guys or if guys just weren&#8217t getting open.

I was pretty frustrated with the coaching for most of the game. I&#8217m not sure there is any point in playing Tim Tebow if your too afraid to let him be Tim Tebow. As soon as they opened up a little and started giving him multiple options down field, he started playing better. Or, maybe not. Again, I&#8217m not sure that its possible to totally decipher this one off the CBS feed.

But, they one. There is something to that and at many levels. Its nice to see a team that no longer rolls over and dies at the first excuse.

@ButteBronco - With a good defense the score at halftime could be 0-0. If you get a full four quarters of 4th quarter caliber play from Tebow you should be blowing out a team like Miami. I agree, you have to hold an offense accountable for three and outs, but you have to hold a defense accountable for the score. A good defense shouldn&#8217t buckle until the 2nd half, even then, a good defense can still win games (like they did today).

I think Tebow played terribly, but it only seems fair to spread the blame. My guess is that the throw to DT that was 30 yards wide was on DT because he didn&#8217t run the correct route. This accuracy thing isn&#8217t something you can deny however. The overthrow to Fells was completely on Tebow and he should have hit Decker for a touchdown (again!). Somehow his accuracy problems completely disappeared in the 4th. All of a sudden he just turns it on and starts making crazy timing and accuracy dependent throws. This must drive coaches crazy. It&#8217s like he has an evil twin brother or something.

What drives me crazy is the philosophy to stick with what doesn&#8217t work. McCoy/Fox stuck with the run far too long. Granted, Tebow didn&#8217t really give them any reason to think they should throw it more, but he was mostly throwing in 3rd and long situations until they were forced to go to the air in the 4th. It&#8217s impossible to evaluate the receivers on TV but the announcers didn&#8217t seem to think they were getting open. It can&#8217t help that the defense knows you aren&#8217t passing because you only pass when you absolutely have to. Once the play calling balanced out, Tebow played better. Another thing worth mentioning about the 4th quarter is that he finally had a clean pocket to work with. The late throw out to Decker on the sidelines was a real NFL throw. A big difference on that throw was a clean pocket with room to step up and throw. It sheds a lot of light on Orton&#8217s poor play. I think this O-Line has a long way to go&#8230 especially Beadles.

Yeah I will say that, while I think Orton would&#8217ve made some of the wide open throws that Tebow missed earlier, he also might very well have been sacked 10 times or more, other than 7. Tebow did hold it too long on at least one sack, but with the pass blocking often poor and the coverage often good, I can&#8217t imagine Orton faring better in that department at least. But we won&#8217t know anyway&#8212without the aid of PRofessor Farnsworth&#8217s &#8220What if?&#8221 Machine. <img alt="wink" height="19" src="http://www.singernet.com/images/smileys/wink.gif" style="border:0;" width="19"> And a win is a win.

Clearly a lot has to improve against some of the better teams coming up.

Meanwhile, Raiders are down 14-zip to Chiefs, which is fine by me.

As far as Fox and McCoy, it&#8217s not the style of football that&#8217s my first choice, but I&#8217ll give credit where it&#8217s due. The absence of extra-costly mistakes kept us within reach. There&#8217s something to be said for that strategy.

For me, this game was very reminiscent of a game from Elway&#8217s rookie season, against the Colts. If memory serves, he played terribly for most of the game, and the Colts led 19-0 going into (or in) the 4th quarter, before Elway threw three late TD passes and the Broncos won, 21-19. I may have some details confused; it was a very long time ago.

I just don&#8217t know what to make of Tebow. I generally fall into the camp that does not see him being a long-term successful QB, and for much of the game he seemed even worse than that. But in the end, when it comes down to street ball, he just makes the most amazing plays and does things most (no?) other QB can do. I honestly don&#8217t see this as a sustainable model of playing, but hopefully Tebow will have the remainder of the season (i.e. not getting hurt) to give the answers needed, one way of the other. Either way, I&#8217m sure glad we get to see how things play out rather than continue to discuss hypotheticals. Great win!

A win is a win, and even against a bad team like Miami, sometime all you need is a spark. Coming back from 15 points down on the road (albeit a friendly road) may be the spark. Under Orton, this team was on a huge skid with no confidence in winning any game.

Would Orton have gotten it done in the same situation? Probably not, and it would have been dispassionate and boring along with a loss.

I&#8217m not bought in to Tebow being a long-term starter, but all Broncos fans should be giving him a break (7 sacks allowed??) and be thankful we have a fun product to watch for the remainder of the year.

Wow. I just don&#8217t know how to feel about this game.

I&#8217m glad we got a win. But it was as ugly as it gets. Still, a win is a win.

But needing OT to beat possibly the worst. Team in the league doesn&#8217t inspire confidence going forward with Detroit next week coming off 2 losses.

I still haven&#8217t bought into Tebow and this game didn&#8217t really help me out. If anything it makes it worse.

One thing I know for sure is that my heart won&#8217t be able to take 10 more games like this.

Considering we are in the bottom half of the league, regardless of who we play&#8230a win is very good. On the road, even better.

10 more games of Tebow will either kill us or at least make us understand where he is the big scheme of things.

There will be those that wished we never won, but that is selfish. Broncos win!

@RalphW - The Chris Harris substitution was perhaps the best coaching call of the game! It just shut down the only thing Miami got going. I still like Wilhite on running downs and blitzes. Harris seems to have what it takes to play cover corner on the slot, something Wilhite can&#8217t seem to get done. I&#8217m still suspending judgment on the Carter for Moore substitution, but the pass defense was much better this game. Rush defense was dominant!

MVP - Tebow

Least Valuable Player - Tebow

Runner-up least valuable player(s) - Beadles, Walton, and Kuper on pass protection. The middle of the pocket consistently collapsed on pass plays. I thought Franklin did a great job setting the edge against a good rush. Tebow just couldn&#8217t step up into the pocket most of the game so he consistently had to roll back or out to into the edge rusher instead of being able to make the throw. Franklin is going to see bad stats for the game but the center of the line really gave up most of those sacks due to pressure. On the same topic, Moreno deserves more credit for his contributions on pass protection. He flat out stonewalled Dansby on a solo block late in the 4th.

Defense played great today. When Tebow was sucking for 3.5 quarters the defense was constantly on the field and did a good job keeping the game in reach. It should be taken with a grain of salt because it was against one of the worst offenses in the league but still they played a great game.

@Butte. Agree&#8230 HAS to improve. However, it almost seems like he just doesn&#8217t warm up in games a lot of times till the 2nd half? Or when they open up the offense and let him start slinging. Even if that&#8217s the case, he has to get better and make that NOT happen.

I really wonder if there WAS a ton of pressure felt about this game due to the circumstances, etc. Haven&#8217t SEEN the game yet, but it appears to be the worst game he&#8217s played by far, until that final 5 minutes. Would you agree? If this hadn&#8217t been Miami, the comeback would have been REALLY doubtful&#8230.

Having said all that, Tebow played as bad as I&#8217ve ever seen a QB play in the NFL for most of the game. I&#8217ve never seen an NFL QB miss that badly, that often. He wasn&#8217t even close enough on throws to throw picks. If he plays like that against a mildly competent football team the score will be 28-0 at half.

He&#8217ll have to get better, and I think he will. After it all, he bought himself a couple more weeks and the confidence of the whole team. There is absolutely no doubt he has the &#8220it&#8221 factor, and if he can improve his throwing, I&#8217m confident we&#8217ll win championships with him. Big if though.

Geez, I&#8217m just glad they won. Will be harsh enough this week in the media without the win. If they&#8217d lost I wouldn&#8217t even want to look at SI or ESPN online. Only so much they can say now.

Seriously though&#8230when does this coaching staff get the message and open up the offense a bit? They seem allergic to the spread. That was one thing McDaniels brought that was good. Almost all of the really successful teams right now do this. We were sticking with the traditional 3 yards and a cloud of dust offenses WAY too much. I understand not changing the whole offense for Tebow but for Pete&#8217s sake, you NEED to adapt a bit better. After a supposed two week period to do this, I was looking for more. Only like 2 screen passes as well. Was just ridiculous. I would put this performance MOSTLY on the coaching staff, then Tebow and the offensive line. Defense was pretty darn good and kept the fins under 100 yards.

Bottom line it was a win, although not pretty. Some good things, but a lot of areas needing improvement.

Wow. As for #58, I don&#8217t think it makes up for the first 55 min IF it was Tebow sucking (didn&#8217t get to watch, just seeing the play by play) but it does help. IF they come back and actually WIN the game it covers a multitude of sins though. Still just need to get better and bottom line that&#8217s all we&#8217re looking for&#8230progress. Still, I though this game could easily be a blowout instead of this&#8230

While the ending has been exciting, I hope we don&#8217t forget that the first three quarters were ugly for our offense.

Can&#8217t let that continue. Like I said&#8230 forward progress is needed.
