Enjoy the games, and Go Vikings Bears!
some Eagles/Giants post-game quotes that for some reason jumped out at me:
“You just can’t say enough about Vince Young. I know his statistics aren’t going to look brilliant; I think he had three interceptions on the game or whatever, but he made so many clutch plays on that final drive in the 4th quarter that it has just been a nightmare for the Eagles (I assume he meant the Giants).” - Chris Collinsworth
(recalling playing him when he was with TEN) “Didn’t matter how inconsistent he was in the first three quarters, he wasn’t a guy that you wanted to have the ball on that last drive, and he showed it again, the fact that he’s a winner. He made those plays on that last drive to win the ballgame.” - Tony Dungy
So, it’s late in the 3rd quarter of Eagles-Giants game, and here’s Eli Manning’s stat line:
Eli Manning - 12 for 26, 113 yard, 4.3 ypa, 0 td, 1 int
This stat comparison stuff is getting fun, lol.
Eat it SD.
That is all.
Broncos can beat the Chargers. Bears D getting at cry-me-a-Rivers. Von Doom can easily do the same. Chargers D will give it up.
Still hating the Vikings for not beating the Raiders. I guess the Broncos will just have to go 10-5, like I predicted.
The even more ridiculous thing is him burning a timeout because they had the wrong personnel on defense.
By the way…Jay Cutler is playing some out of this world football. He’s been so ridiculously good.
Be sure to read the rapid reaction on ESPN for the Panthers / Lions game… the writer, Pat Yasinkas (sp?) said that one of the things he liked about the game was Cam Newton, even though he threw FOUR interceptions! At least he has good mechanics when he does it…. I wonder what Bill Williamson would write if… nevermind…
Norv is gonna get fi…ered. Norv is gonna get fi..ered!
Chargers don’t look very good right now. They get a key interception on Cutler (on which Knox slipped on the field) and then give it right back on a Rivers interceptions (on which it looked like a poor throw by Rivers).
On top of that, I’m amazed Norv Turner, down to two time outs, uses one first, then decides to challenge what appeared to be a fumble on the field. He lost the challenge and now the Chargers have their backs to the wall.
I haven’t caught the entire game but I’m wondering how much the Chargers miss Ron Rivera… although their problems do go further than just a change at defensive coordinator.
I started watching this game, Minnesota was down by three, and Ponder looked pretty good. I kind of fanticized that he’d look good in orange and blue. But man, it now late in the 4th quarter, he just threw his third interception, and he just looks like another Cutler. I’m glad he isn’t in orange and blue, but I wish he wasn’t in purple and yellow either.
I love tuning in in time to see the Raiders commit two dumb personal foul penalties in a row. Of course then the Vikes had a TD called back due to a penalty of their own, alas.
