A Patriots victory would help them keep pace with the Broncos at 11-3; a San Francisco win would leave Denver as the number-two seed in the AFC, and in control of their own destiny, with the Browns and Chiefs coming to SAF@MH to close out the season.
By winning today in Baltimore, Denver has already ensured itself of being no worse than the three seed; if the Niners pull off the upset, the Broncos will be in the driver's seat for a coveted first-round bye. Enjoy the game, and Go Niners!
Uh oh. Chris Kuper will NOT play today; Manny "Turnstile" Ramirez will start in his place, with C.J. Davis backing up Ramirez. Joining Kuper on the inactive list are Lance Ball, Caleb Hanie, Tracy Porter, Julius Thomas, Andre Caldwell, and Sealver Siliga.
The absence of Ball means Denver will have only two running backs - Knowshon Moreno and Ronnie Hillman - but two fullbacks - Chris Gronkowski and Jacob Hester - among its 46-man roster today.
Wesley Woodyard will play, and all seven linebackers are active.
For Baltimore, S Bernard Pollard, LB Dannell Ellerbe, LB Jameel McClain, G Marshal Yanda, TE Ed Dickson, T Ramon Harewood, and WR Deonte Thompson are all out; Ray Lewis remains on IR.
James Ihedigbo will start in place of Pollard, while Bobbie Williams steps in for Yanda. Josh Bynes takes Ellerbe's spot, and will wear the defense headset to relay play calls.
Cornerback Jimmy Smith returns after having missed five games due to a sports hernia; Dickson will miss his third straight game.
Here are the rest of the league's inactive lists.
