I don't think the MSM would be calling for his head. They're all actually saying it will be interesting to see how much he's improved next season and that he's earned the job now. So called "Bronco fans" though, THEY would be calling for his head...
I think the Packers game shows something. Yep, Rogers has missed a few throws, but it's hard for a QB to get any kind of rhythm going when his receivers drop the ball, especially on key plays. This has hit the Packers in other games towards the end of the season, but they were able to overcome. Not against an aggressive and capable defense though and not when also losing the field position battle. People aren't figuring in how Denver's completion percentages were impacted by drops as well, especially late in the season. It's a big deal.
I'm hoping the Broncos young receivers can mature and progress well (as well as the QB) and that the Broncos add a veteran presence or two (maybe a vet WR AND pass catching TE?). Bottom line though, if just the drops gets fixed, the Broncos passing game is much improved. Add in hopeful improvement at the QB position and the Broncos could be just fine in that area. McGahee will need help and I really think the O-line does as well. I'm hopeful the D-line will be ok with people back so maybe just improvement at LB and the back end to make up for declining or lost veteran talent there. This team's still 2 years and successful drafts away from being a perennial contender but they could be way more dangerous next year with just some modest improvement even.

So, best WR corp of Sunday: Raven's or Giant's secondary?

That's Coughlin's M.O.

So, the Saints and Packers, the top two of three passing teams in the League go as far in the playoffs as the Broncos. Maybe it's equal parts defense and offense? Bestill my heart.
Bottom line: We need to upgrade our pass rush. SF and NYG have shown how each can stymie a passing offense. I hope Zach Brown or another stud front 7 player is our #1 pick.

Can you believe that Coughlin was 1 loss from likely being fired? Amazing what winning does for a team. Unless you're Jimmy Johnson.

You know, Today has been a pretty bad display of the passing games for all of the teams. The Giants have had an okay day, but it's really the field position that's done them so well.

Burn...

Actually I was thinking since they probably aren't expecting to the balls to be thrown to them accurately, they may be just be surprised by the balls. :)

Packers look terrible today. No way do you use the playoff bye as an excuse when the other three teams had the same and all of them won.
I wouldn't mind seeing Pats/Giants in the Super Bowl... and the Giants taking the win from them again.

A lot of drops by Green Bay's receivers. They need to upgrade, just like the Broncos. These bums have done nothing to help out Rodgers.

And there is your dagger! I've been waiting to say that since the Packers announcer said that when the packers beat the giants earlier in the season

This year's Packers ran into last year's Packers, or this year's equivalent "peaking at the right time" team in the Giants. It happens. SF hosts the NYG and will hopefully overlook them. ;) Go Ravens!

Wow, the Giants bringing it to the Packers right now.

Yeah, not his greatest game. Of course we do realize that he has mostly been incredible, incredibly accurate and dangerous. Our QB doesn't *yet* (emphasizing yet so no one hates me) have that kind of pedigree. But he gets a bit more slack, you know?

I'm rooting for the Patriots to lose, either next week or in the SB. Other than that, the Giants I guess, because my dad's a Giants fan. Even though (or because) I'm in SF, I'm not rooting for SF.

Brutal throw by Aaron Rodgers. If the Pack loses today, he bears a lot of responsibility.
Posted by TJ Johnson on 2012-01-15 20:11:44
Hey, have you guys seen this Rodgers guy today. He's barely 50%, missed throws, had players drop passes and missed open WRs when he's running for his life. What a bum.
Posted by Orange_and_Blue on 2012-01-15 20:10:29
Pats and Packers. I want to see a SB won 52-49.
Posted by OutInOregon on 2012-01-15 20:01:56
With the Broncos out of the playoff pictures, which team will you guys be rooting for?
Posted by moondoggieTwelve on 2012-01-15 19:01:25
True. And Flacco, who is a longer veteran, is pretty darned erratic himself, still.
Posted by underdog on 2012-01-15 18:19:55
and they said he played well!!
If Tebow had put up that line, they'd be calling for his head. MSM boggles my mind.

I know some people admire that a rookie QB isn't afraid to let it fly, but TJ Yates, there are reasons you don't always let it fly. He's made some poor choices today resulting in picks, including throwing into triple coverage, and then on that one into the end zone.
