John Elway's end-of-season presser will be shown on ESPN and stream on the team's official site.
Says the pot calling the the kettle black. You made a stupid post was called on it and do not have the nads to take it like a man.
My post was fine.
You're still a moron.
Says the pot calling the the kettle black.
You made a stupid post was called on it and do not have the nads to take it like a man.
Please stop being stupid.
Exactly where did you say he was in the passengers seat.
You said "he was sitting at a traffic light next to a guy who looks just like Meyer,"
Did not say he was in the passengers seat.
It could have been he looked to his right and saw him driving.
Once again I will state
Most likely they will either bring them in on a private jet and pick them up in either a limo or a company car(which could be anything from a town car to SUV)
Try to be clearer next time you pop off.
Your ego can not handle being called on anything.
He was in the passenger seat.
You're not very bright. Please stop.
Black SUV or Limo samie samie he was not driving what sounded like a rental to go to perhaps the most important open job in the NFL.
Actually, Peyton Manning was picked up in a black SUV.
And this was very near Centennial Airport, and the SUV was en route from the Centennial Airport area and heading toward Dove Valley.
I guess my point is that I don't think any game plan in the world would have one that game with Manning under center.
What new formations did they use? Did the Broncos do anything to get the ball to Anderson in space? Any screens? How about working the tight end?
They didn't even try. They just lined up and did the stupid guaranteed to fail idea.
CJ Anderson might have been able to break some tackles. What was Manning going to do, tire the Colts out chasing his overthrows?
The problem is if they've got 9 defenders at the line, you can't run and you can't throw short. What else is there but to throw deep?
Probably should have just run it 60-70 times then, huh?
The state of Manning's arm was known. Given that fact, the game plan was stupid.
Sanders beat that coverage all day, but his QB could not deliver the ball accurately. It wasn't the game plan. It was the execution.
No ONE is going come to town for an interview and NOT BE picked up at the airport by a limo. Or if they want him bad enough charter a Jet for them to come to Denver and be picked up in a limo.
But they were kicking ass as a general rule also. They just got meaner with week off
Elway: Coach, how can we get to the nexl level?!Fox: Elevator?
I wonder how much time Carroll gave his players off? I recall before the SB Seattle was practicing hard in pads every day and the Broncos didn't put the pads on once cause Foxy thought the team was tired... gimme a break. Maybe the next HC won't win a SB but it wasn't gong to happen with Fox either.
By contrast, every time Seattle has had two weeks before a postseason game they have come out ready to kick someone's ass.
yeah, you're right. I don't follow college football that closely, to me they're both high-profile college HCs.
This just lends credence to my claim that Elway read my "Fire John Fox" post Sunday night!
Comedy!!
I heard someone ask if the coordinators interviewing elsewhere during bye was distracting (for the record of course they have to do it if the opportunity present itself, but Gase taking four interviews was a bit piggish... surely some of that time could have been spent figuring out how the WRs could beat press-man coverage -- though he had a full yr. after Seattle set the trend), however did anyone ask JE if Fox gave the players too much time off (either completely off or not practicing) during the bye? I read somewhere the team didn't practice for 8 days after the Oakland game...
"If we'd won the SB, Fox would probably still be the Broncos HC."When mutual does not = mutual.
Awesome, that about sums it up.
Nothing. It was all political, non-commital stuff. "We have to get better." "We will be deliberate about hiring a new coach." etc.
One thing he said was that if the Broncos have to go out, he wants them to go out kicking and screaming, and he didn't think they went out kicking and screaming the last two seasons, and he doesn't know why.
Damn I missed all but the last 5 mins. What did I miss of import?
Good to know we wouldn't have fired a coach coming of a super bowl victory /s
That's what I thought, but couldn't remember
“The main thing between John and I was we disagreed how to get to the next level,”
Elway: We need to get to the next level.Fox: There's another level??
It's almost as if that was a common phrase on a blog he reads.
Wasn't that Nick Saban?
was he the college coach that Manning and a couple of other players almost got in trouble for meeting with the offseason before last? IIRC it was one of the more well-respected college offensive minds, but that was a while back and I can't remember at the moment. Anyway that's a bit of a stretch in as much as it's not really a "connection" in the sense that they'd worked / played together.
“I’d like to start out this press conference with a thank you to John Elway — err, John Fox,” Elway said.
Totally understandable slip of the tongue.
Some takes from Elway:When he met with Manning, they did not talk about the future,He thinks it's one thing to depart the playoffs "kicking and screaming" but that didn't happen the last two seasons. If we'd won the SB, Fox would probably sti;ll be the Broncos HC.
Is anyone aware of Denver connections for Urban Meyer? My buddy swears up and down he was sitting at a traffic light next to a guy who looks just like Meyer, wearing an OSU jacket and a ring with a big-ass orange stone in it.
