Enjoy the games!
What a screw-up by #24 for GB to let SF into FG range. I guess Rodgers will have time to do more "dabble check" commercials now.
He isn't going through his progressions either. Every replay I've seen, he is locked onto where he wants to go with the ball.
I despise the 49 ers so go pack! What a whiff by Cox
Watching Rodgers and Kaepernick makes me realize that Manning and Brady are the Bach and Beethoven of our generation. And everybody else is Solieri. What a pleasure to have a GOAT behind center for our team.
I have to say, I continue to be not impressed by Kaepernick. Sure, he´s dangerous when he runs, and his arm is a rifle; but he doesn´t read defenses well (and has shown limited improvement in his 2nd season) and his accuracy is mediocre. There is no way he becomes a top-5 QB in the NFL, in my opinion.
Still watching, of course! 3rd coldest game in history, wouldn´t miss it for the world. I also enjoy being reminded of the difference between the 2nd best QB in the game and the GOAT. Watching Rodgers makes me be even more in awe of Peyton.
Nah, just predictable against a QB of Rodgers´ caliber and big-play ability. That Gore TD should really convince Harbaugh to lean on his running game in the red zone. With the threat of a Kaepernick keeper, they´re in a great position there.
Recharging the ipad. Have to be judicious about posts :p
At least they're consistent in this game.
Where did everybody go? I know it is not an AFC game, but this GB-SF game is pretty entertaining !!
Are you a psychic? Very accurate prediction there.
It´s a shame Welker´s absence the last few games cost the Broncos the highest red zone percentage ever (we finished at approximately 76.3%. The record was 78%, and during the last 3 games we were successful on 60% of our opportunities). It also made us finish behind San Diego in 3rd down percentage.
San Fran´s baffling decisions in the red zone are dangerous, though. Those FGs will come back to haunt them the second their DL stops pressuring Rodgers.
Wow the refs are really letting the DBs be really physical this game. I don't believe the refs should change what they call in the playoffs but it seems like they do.
I thought going into the game SF was the better team. The only thing that will keep it close or give them a chance to win is being at home and the conditions.
Green Bay looks thoroughly overmatched so far.
Watching SF with 1st and goal at the 4 and not completing a pass on three attempts makes you appreciate just how good Denver is in the red zone especially 1st and goal.
Wow. That Green Bay field looks like Boise State, if Boise State's color was brown. I bet it really smarts to land on that sucker.
Crabtree looking dominant so far minus the fumble he lucked out on.
Colin Kaepernick rooted for the Packers as a kid and Aaron Rodgers was a 49ers fan.
Yeah, I've been checking the extended forecast every day, too.
They're just better. They also have the better quarterback.
I really think so also.
Weather forecast for next sunday looks pretty good so far high of 50 low of 28, and wind at 9mph.
I have already heard how SD plays well against Manning regardless of being 1 and 3 against him since he has been with the Broncos. I am actually glad in some ways that we lost the last game though. If we can't get up for this game we have no business winning anyway.
The Colts are going to beat New England next week.
Dalton´s accuracy on high throws might be the worst in the NFL.
Dalton is young enough that I think he could still have a future, but I'm beginning to doubt it will happen in Cincy. He has one touchdown pass in three playoff games.
Exactly. One of the nagging little things about this team this season is the fact that they don't show much in the way of urgency at times. As strange as it might sound, I would rather run the risk of them emptying the tanks against the Chargers and possibly losing to the Pats, than get caught playing flat or looking ahead.
Again, there is no excuse whatsoever for the team and the crowd to not be bat-shit crazy for this game. You get a division opponent at home in the playoffs, you fuck 'em up, send 'em home and move on.
I´d fire Marvin Lewis before abandoning the Dalton experiment, to be honest. How he punted down 10 with 5 mn remaining is a punishable offense.
That second INT is beyond atrocious. Reminded me of the Chris Harris pick six against Flacco last year, and also a few vintage Rivers moments.
One would think they'd almost have to. Dalton is not the answer.
Besides, we already know SD is going to try to run as much as possible to keep the ball away from Peyton Manning, so being as efficient and aggressive as possible with every possession is going to be paramount if we want to minimize the impact of any hypothetic mistake.
Well, if Denver can't get hyped for this game, then I don't know what to say. This is the game where the Broncos need to absolutely curb-stomp the competition, because as we've seen, the Chargers are just good enough to win if you let them hang around. If I see any kind of trepidation or hesitation against a division foe in the playoffs, I'm going to puke.
My overall take on this game was that Cinci did more to lose this game than SD did to win. SD was solid in all phases but all those (mostly unforced) turnovers were the story of the game. Dalton was just brutal the second half.
Deadspin said it was the worst food in America by far
This being gracious seems unlike you. What are you drinking? I should probably have some !!
SD to Denver is gonna be like when Tebow won a playoff game and then led the team to the slaughter in Boston. Phyliss has exceeded expectations, but he has to go to Denver now.
Well, this is the last moment I'll feel even remotely gracious towards San Diego until the Broncos pummel them next week, so I'll congratulate Mike McCoy on another great win.
Cuz it's gonna go down just like that, right? Hooray for lazy coverage.
Yay for a week of replays of the Week 15 ass-whooping in Denver!
So I wonder if CINCY Thinks QB in this suppossedly QB rich class.
The Bengals just don't make plays when it counts. Even their best guys let them down. If Green hangs onto that bomb, Cincy has a first down inside the five with more than four minutes left in the game. They score there and get a stop, then they could be marching for a game tying field goal right now.
Time for the Broncos to put on the Big Boy pants !!
Sports radio is going to be annoying here in SD this next week. When they snuck into the playoffs on the strength of KC not bothering to play and some bad officiating, they were suddenly the Super Bowl favorites. Get one playoff win and all we will hear is how much better Marmalade is than anyone else.
I was thinking that same thing. If Gio holds on there and they score, this likely would have been a different outcome.
Moral of the story: Don't ever, EVER give the fucking Chargers reason to think they can win.
Rather not play the Chargers.
These are all questions that will be posed endlessly tonight in the Queen City.
And now we will !! (or at least 2 of them)
You 93 voters get your wish. Time to smash Phyllis and Friends.
Agree on all points.
Only three teams left beat us...we should have won all three.
Haven't seen many Cincinnati games. But it does seem like a good question. I guess living a weak division helps.
They had the ball at midfield, down 10 with four minutes left. A lot of quarterbacks have pulled out games in those conditions.
Dalton was brutal, but the Gio fumble really gave SD life in this game. It also transferred a lot of pressure back onto Andy's shoulders.
That's what happened to the Bungles. It's the lack of Christmas.
They are ? If John Elway was their QB, I'd agree. But with Dalton, I'm not so sure.
Four turnovers and the Bengals are still very much alive in this game.
Turns out this game is all about turnovers. If you look at the box score, the Bengals actually have 100 more yards than then the Bolts. Coaches always talk about turnovers. Maybe they are on to something !!
Channeling Rex Grossman now.
Hopefully setting the new record for a Super Bowl win and ending all talk of Peyton choking.
What the hell was that? Make a low percentage fourth down conversion even lower by going deep into double coverage? How in all the five hells did Dalton ever become a NFL QB?
Just stop their run game....and we win! ;-)
Will this be the first time in history Denver and San Diego have met in the playoffs?
Then we settle up with Frisco for XXIV.
There are three teams left in the AFC besides the Broncos. All three teams beat the Broncos in the regular season. It's time for revenge. Cold, ruthless revenge.
They've decided to go after the KC playoff futility record?
Like the Lions and the Browns, it just seems like the Bengals are way too used to losing when it counts.
The Bengals are some afraid of success sumbitches.
Exactly right. No team is on the Broncos level as long as they don't beat themselves.
I think it's unfair to say the Charger's defense hasn't played better of late, but Dalton has never scared me. He is a mistake waiting to happen.
These are the Bengals. Three turnovers in their first round ouster last year. 198 total yards in their first round flop in 2011.
I sure hope so.
Doesn't matter who the Broncos play next Sunday, only thing that matters is executing their game plan.
Ingram coming back certainly helps. Though the way Dalton Cutlers on to his receivers makes his job a lot easier.
Let it be !!
The Broncos are going to knock the ever loving shit out of these posers.
And Laserface it shall be. Not too enthused about going against SD next week.
Where did this San Diego defense come from?Is Dalton just that bad? Or is SD playing actual defense?
Dalton is just handing this to the sparklers.
At this point, he's winning the game for the Chargers. And it drives me nuts.
That'll do it !!
That would have made sense. But we're probably lucky McD didn't take Charlie Brown to be our kicker.
When McDaniels traded back into the 2nd to take Alphonso Smith, I was convinced he was going to take Ray.
Maualuga takes a lot of heat for being an old school MLB, but he is bringing the pain today.
Question, IF that had been called a horse collar tackle and saved a touchdown - what would you think of introducing a rule to eject that player?
Cincinnati D keeping the Bengals alive. 2 stops inside the red zone.
He's between feedings.
Yes, he gave them the game.I hate the thought of the Bolts living to play another day.
Fluker acting like the game is over
I think he gave them a lot more than just hope.
Bad Andy is back !!
Kendall Reyes is a very hard worker. He really seemed to fit the profile that the Broncos like in a lineman. Big versatile guy who was really productive in college.
Words cannot describe the loathing I feel for this team. Seeing Dalton give them hope makes my skin crawl.
Where did the SD pass rush come from?
Looking like the Sparklers
Big stand by Cincinnati D there.
Lindsay Jones tweeted that Old Spice managed to make a commercial weirder than 2 lizards eating Wes Welker's legs.
Looks like Bad Andy came out after halftime.
Bad Andy is starting to show.
Is it getting Ingram back that has this defense playing so much better? They were dog doodoo earlier in the season.
Geez. You ain't whistling Dixie on that.
Great body control on that TD catch. Not much the DB could do there.
That Old Spice commercial was .... something....
Not a great defensive drive by the Bengals there, especially the corner covering Royal.
This kid is good.
Wow I haven't seen Mike McCoy call a play off game this conservatively since, ERM, last year...
Maybe the league wanted to discourage offenses from gaming the replay rule by spiking before a challenge could be requested??
So, if you spike the ball, the previous play can be reviewed? Doesn't it count as a play?
It's a dumb rule then, and a dumb rule now.
I'm with you if that play earlier is a fumble how are plays like the calvin johnson one not a catch.
Every time I see the replay of the 'Calvin Johnson Rule' play, I see a catch. What do I know..
Too bad, too. Such a nice drive, and a beautiful throw and catch by Jones.
Players are so good at stripping the ball anymore, receivers should almost just hit the deck on catches in traffic. I've noticed Decker seems to have quit trying to fight for yards after contact after his fumble in the Dallas game.
This is the type of play where the ruling on the field usually stands.
Looks like a catch to me.
I do. Catch, football move, strip.
First big mistake if this stands.
I don't think that is a catch.
He's annoying as hell.
It's such a hard call because, although beating Rivers would be more satisfying than beating Luck, losing to Rivers would be much harder to take than losing to Luck.
Nice drive to answer by Cincy and credit to Dalton for hanging in on that TD and being aware enough to just get that throw off in time.
One thing we can all agree on is the guy doesn't know how to use a condom. It's like he's trying to produce his own football team or something.
Pretty sure Berman or one of the other ESPN guys gave him that nickname while he was in New England.
Game of inches and milliseconds....
Running it down the Sparklers throat. Need to throw though
Not sure when it started, but I've heard it used a lot this season.
Gio just got the crowd into the game.
That's a funny nickname. Hadn't heard that before.
The Law Firm is a stud when it comes to converting third and short.
Wish those commercials were on behalf of a corporation I didn't despise. They are awfully funny.
Pretty cool seeing Peko in there at fullback.
Love Cincinnati chili coneys. MMMMm!!!!
I respect him greatly too as a player but I find him unbearably obnoxious, even if he was my QB. He seems to chew out his own guys constantly (manning does to an extent too, but not as angrily) and generally is classless out there IMHO. Anyway yes, I would like to see him lose. Preferably with a butt fumble type play involved.
Don't let your dad get punched over a can of soup
It's not an option next round for Denver but of the playoff teams' QBs the one I'd fear the least is Andy Dalton.
That would've been fun.
I have a lot of Respect for Rivers as a player, and I'm sure his fiery cocky personality is something I would love if he was Denver's QB, but it sure makes it easy to hate him as a rival. I'd be happy to see Denver get another crack at them.
Impressive drive by chargers. Also: Philip rivers remains a douche. Did you see him get ticked at a bengals player accidentally standing over him, he shoved the guy in the nuts, "get off me!" Then kept jawing at him. I want to play the chargers now, I don't care how dangerous they see,pm right now.
This game would be infinity more entertaining had Dan Fouts and Boomer Esiason been in the booth.
That clock eating offense by San Diego is impressive. I guess there are no pushovers in the playoffs.
Does anybody else think Ladarius Green is underutilized by the Chargers?
