Discuss the fourth to seventh rounds of the 2012 NFL Draft with fellow IAOFM readers
RSH: If you look at the totality of what the Chiefs have done the the past two years, they have methodically added talent across the board, at nearly every position, in free agency and the draft. Last year, you look at the players they added: Houston, Bailey, Baldwin, Breaston. This year: Poe, Boss, Wylie, Allen, Foster, Hillis. I know I'm forgetting some. They've rebuilt both lines, added players who can get after the QB, dynamic playmakers on offense. I think from top to bottom, the they've built the strongest roster in the West. Especially once they get Charles, Berry and Moeaki back this year.
Is 22 reps on the bench cause for concern?
It looked to me like they got good value with the Blake pick. I'd imagine he'll give Beadles a run for it even this year.
Why are you so impressed with the Chiefs draft? I am just not blown away by KC's selections.
Philip Blake sounds like a good prospect. He should, at worst, be quality depth. If he develops, even better. Good raw material to coach up, . Denver hasn't had a center that anchors since Nalan's decline.
CBS Sports on Philip Blake http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/d...He played RT for Baylor in 2009, then moved to Center when JD Walton left.
I have to add now that I do NOT like the Blake pick. Interior depth only next year. They're not gonna put him into the lineup as a rookie. He's also 26 years old.
You know who's having a great draft? The Chiefs. Again. Was hoping the Broncos would get Wylie. Adams, Wylie, Benjamin -- three dynamic players off the board, along with Miller and Turbin. Can't believe they passed on Ta-Amu.
I can actually say I like the Bolden pick. One of the top CBs in the country before the injury. Could make an instant impact as a returner. If he gets his full speed back, he has the size and ability to be an upper level no. 2 CB, maybe a no. 1.
This is just surreal....
That's good, Miller went to Miami. Good fit, he should be happy. If his shoulder heals (must have been reason he fell?), good pickup.
I would love to see Broncos grab Alameda in this round.
