Discuss the second and third rounds of the draft with fellow IAOFM readers
Boom! Fisher loves them Griz!
Not sure what to think about the Hillman pick.
Don't we have a need for a younger McGahee, a between the tackles type back?
It seems to me that Johnson or Ball fulfills the role of the third down back, but I'll just admit my ignorance on Hillman.
Having attended Eastern Washington University briefly, I will just celebrate the fact you're a Broncos fan.
I'm glad the young man will fulfill a dream to play in the NFL and mourn for his time as a member of the Grizz.
Hey guys, it could be worse... we could've just picked a punter like the Jags...
knowson's chances were slim when he hurt his knee; the DUI sealed it. It's a shame, really. he had great open-field skills.
Hillman -- Knowshon's about to exit stage left.
What did we trade to move up to 67? I thought we didn't pick until 87?
Congratumalations to Montana CB Trumaine Johnson, picked 65 overall by the St. Louis Rams. GO GRIZ!!!!
Yeah I'm a homer. : )
I think I'll check back, tomorrow. I was OK with Wolfe, but now, I need a technicolor yawn.
Prolly need to trade up for a long snapper at some point...
nah, I can't go there just yet. So far Elway's been a pretty damn good GM, IMO. I don't like the Osweiler pick, but I've got to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Not anymore.
Um... In John We Trust?
Osweiler. Not surprised at all. Wish we would have gone a different direction.
I think that is now my mantra for this draft, "Wish we would have gone a different direction, but they're the professionals."
Ridiiculous
?????
Too early to draft a QB, IMO.
Broncos will look back at this draft and shake their heads. These picks make no sense. They better hope that Peyton can literally fly. That's the only way they compete with Chargers/Chiefs after the first two rounds here.
Royale, you're joking, right?
Osweiler. This draft is an utter disaster.
Broncos pick is in. Bet they sprinted to get Miller.
Sounds like it's Konz and Mike Adams next. Miller still on the board. Massie. Robinson. Tru Johnson. My guess is they go Miller.
There goes Stills.
What's with all of the booing?
Players the Broncos could get that would lessen the sting of Wolfe:
Bobby Massie, Mike Adams, Josh Robinson, Trumaine Johnson, Lamar Miller, maybe even Devon Still.
Whew, Chargers take Reyes, guy that a lot of y'all worried Broncos would take ;)
I don't think you can assume a player you like will be there later. They had their guy in their sights and they had already traded down. Broncos need DT and they obviously like the kid. Time will tell if the scouts and EFX were right about Wolfe being better than Worthy, Still etc.
Here's one place where I agree with Ted.Wolfe is quick and a penetrator.Probably could have gotten him at #57, but why gamble. Not unhappy
I'll defer to Ted and Doc on what that score means (is that combine-only based or broader?) but everything else I've read and seen about/of him is pretty darned solid. He was projected as high 2nd rounder and lo, that's where he went. We all just will hope for the best. I would like him to fill out a bit more but that part should be easy and he's got a good motor.
I'm glad they addressed d tackle. I know a lot of people like other guys more, but I think we just have to have faith in our scouting on this one.
OK, I'll stop. But if they take Polk at 57, all bets are off.
I don't think it was a bad pick necessarily, I personally would have preferred Worthy.
I'm curious as to what you think about his low grade by the draft services, I never saw anyone list him at better than 5th best at the position, behind Reyes and Worthy and the NFL.com grade on him was 47, compared to Reyes', Worthy's and Still's 84.
I know he had good statistical production at CIncinnati and was Big East Player of the Year, I just don't see what makes him a better choice than the others.
Thoughts from Ted in the other thread btw: " I love this pick. Wolfe is a legit inside pass rusher who had 19.5 sacks in college. He knows how to get there."
Via Twitter: Derek Wolfe to the Broncos: 6-5, 300-lb DL out of Cincy. 2011: 1 Fum. ret, 70 total T, 21.5 TFL, 9.5 SCK, 1 PBK, 6 QB hurries, 2 FF
Not really. :)
Not sure I could be more disappointed right now. Coulda had Wolfe at 57, easy. So many better players available. Along the o-line. At WR. At RB. At CB. I would've preferred Worthy, Still, Ta-Amu, Reyes. Should I go on?
WOLFE!Yeah he’s one of the most solid DTs in the draft actually. Nice pick IMHO. I like it but look forward to Doc and Ted's thoughts.
What a worthy selection.
Fleener, good pick for Colts, great guy, good TE, and... we dom't have to worry about Broncos filling one of their lowest needs on that pick. :) Here we go guys! Hope it's one of the 5-6 guys we really want here.
