Mathis suspended four games, including opener at Denver

Colts DE Robert Mathis, the NFL's leading sack man in 2013, has been suspended four games for violation of the league's PED policy.

Indy opens the season at Denver on SNF, so this figures to bolster the Broncos' chances that night.

Mathis had a monster game when the two teams met last season, with two sacks, two QB hits, one hurry, five stops, and a forced fumble that created a game-turning safety.

The 12th-year defender released a heart-tugging statement claiming that fertility drugs were to blame, as he rushed to provide a grandchild to his cancer-stricken mother.

However, the drug he admits to have taken, Clomid, is a female fertility drug that is not approved by the FDA for male use.
