Kuper’s salary cut from $4.5M to $1.05M

The Broncos have essentially converted the $1.05M injury settlement Chris Kuper would have been due into a guaranteed salary for 2013. The reworked deal saves Denver $3.45M in cash and against the cap.

According to Mike Klis, Kuper can earn an additional $1.7M in incentives, while his 2014 and 2015 (nonguaranteed) salaries remain unchanged.

This is a win for the Broncos; as for Kuper, he had hardly any choice in the matter.
