Klis: Rick Dennison again a candidate for Broncos’ head job

John Elway's search for a new head coach now reportedly includes a second closest ex-teammate. According to Mike Klis, former longtime Broncos player and coach Rick Dennison is under consideration to replace John Fox.

Dennison is currently Baltimore's quarterbacks coach under Gary Kubiak, who has been described by many to be the frontrunner for the job. The former linebacker previously auditioned for the Broncos gig after the firings of Mike Shanahan and Josh McDaniels.

Dennison, a CSU alum, played for the Broncos for nine seasons, including his last eight with Elway and Kubiak. Dennison was a member of Denver's staff throughout the entire Shanahan era, and he stayed on to coach the offensive line under McDaniels in 2009.

The 56-year old was offensive coordinator for the Broncos from 2006-08 (after Kubiak left for Houston) and for Houston and Kubes from 2010-13.
