Peyton Manning, Von Miller, and Champ Bailey were named Pro Bowl starters today; Ryan Clady and Elvis Dumervil are on the AFC team, but are not starters.
Demaryius Thomas, Chris Kuper, Zane Beadles, Eric Decker, David Bruton, and Britton Colquitt are alternates should players ahead of them on the roster not play due to either injury or their teams being in the Super Bowl.
Of course, the hope here is that none of Denver's players will be heading to Honolulu, but instead New Orleans for SB 47.
Here are the full AFC and NFC rosters.
Although it's a bummer that Wesley Woodyard didn't make the squad, even as an alternate, we're not going to get bent out of shape over the omission, since the Pro Bowl - and most honors like this that include voting by fans and/or sportswriters - tend to be a joke.
Perhaps we should be sweating the presence of a fullback on the roster; ironic that such a complaint is coming from the DP, whose staff insisted for the entire spring and summer - and even into the fall - that the Broncos would be employing two-back sets with great frequency, prompting much disagreement from us.
As for the team's preparation for its regular season finale, Trindon Holliday (ankle), Tracy Porter (concussion), and Chris Kuper (ankle/migraine) did not practice Wednesday. Kuper was suited up, however, and did some conditioning work with the training staff. Porter will undergo testing tomorrow to determine his availability for football activity.
