Earlier entries
3:38pm ET - More thoughts - Philly cut Derek Landri, who played for John Fox in Carolina the past two seasons and had visited the Broncos at the end of July. Plus, I just want to say that Manny Ramirez making the roster is just Manny being Manny
3:23pm ET - More good news - Brodrick Bunkley may return this week, while Marcus Thomas isn't too far behind
3:08pm ET - Undoubtedly the best news of the day so far - Brian Xanders says WR Demaryius Thomas is ready to go
3:06pm ET - More thoughts: the team will presumably sign players to the PS tomorrow. Gotta figure at least part of the squad will come from other teams' cuts, but of the Broncos' cuts, prime candidates would include DE Jeremy Beal, CB Brandon Bing, WR Eron Riley, and QB Adam Weber
2:45pm ET - Lindsay Jones says Denver will certainly be acquiring players either cut or waived by other teams, so keep in mind that the positional structure of the roster as currently listed may change shortly. In other words, just because the team has 10 defensive linemen and four wide receivers right now, it's no certainty those numbers will remain the same after the next set of moves.
2:37pm ET - Just some quick observations: Mitch Unrein making the team over Jeremy Jarmon is something of a surprise, while both Darcel McBath and David Bruton both beat out Kyle McCarthy. Denver will carry just four wideouts until Demaryius Thomas returns from injury, so can they really afford to risk injury to Eddie Royal returning punts in the meantime? One would think no - maybe Chris Harris? None of the three players who returned punts for Denver this preseason (Thompson, Cox, Anderson) have made the active roster.
2:16pm ET - Denver's cuts have been announced - in addition to those mentioned prior, the most notable cuts include WR David Anderson, S Kyle McCarthy and DT Jeremy Jarmon
1:53pm ET - Lindsay Jones reports that David Bruton has made the 53-man roster, presumably on the strength of his excellent ST (that's both special teams and substitute teaching) skills
1:50pm ET - The release of Robinson virtually assures that Mike Mohamed will make the final roster; Brian Xanders will hold a presser at 3pm ET
1:25pm ET - Mike Klis says K Steven Hauschka, G Jeff Byers and LB Lee Robinson have been cut
1:00pm ET - Lindsay Jones confirms that Perrish Cox has indeed been cut; combined with the injury to Syd, this makes it very likely Chris Harris and/or Brandon Bing make the roster, although of course a waiver pickup could also enter the picture
12:55pm ET - DMac is hearing that WR Britt Davis and G Stanley Daniels will also be cut. We'll update the chart when moves are either confirmed by multiple sources or announced by the team.
12:50pm ET - The agent for Perrish Cox says the second-year corner has been waived
12:26pm ET - I've added a depth chart below the break to offer a visual aid to the day's transactions. Syd'Quan Thompson has not officially been placed on IR, but he surely will at some point today. Players listed in parentheses have almost no chance of making the squad; those in italics appear to be on the bubble; players with asterisks next to their names have serious injuries and will miss at least part of the regular season.
11:35am ET - Meanwhile, PFT is reporting that Gronkowski will be cut as well, leaving Fells, Julius Thomas and Green as the Broncos' three TEs if correct.
11:30am ET - The first roster move of the day has hit the wire - Denver has cut TE Dante Rosario, who had been signed along with Daniel Fells on July 31. The release of Rosario, who had played four seasons under John Fox in Carolina and had zero touches in the Broncos' four preseason games, means the third TE spot will come down to veteran Dan Gronkowski and rookie Virgil Green, unless the team decides to keep four.
