Chiefs re-sign Bowe, Colquitt, tag Albert; Cook, Jennings will reach FA market

Prior to today's franchise tender deadline, Denver LT Ryan Clady, Cincy DE Michael Johnson, Buffalo S Jairus Byrd, Indy punter Pat McAfee, and Chicago DT Henry Melton were tagged.

Today, Miami has tagged DT Randy Starks, while Dallas tagged DE Anthony Spencer for the second straight year.

The Titans had been likely to tender TE Jared Cook, but expectations that Cook would dispute being tagged as a TE rather than a WR have contributed to Tennessee opting not to tag him.

Kansas City had a flurry of activity, agreeing to new contracts with WR Dwayne Bowe and P Dustin Colquitt, and tagging LT Branden Albert.

Green Bay will not tag WR Greg Jennings.

Although PFT had suggested Houston would tag S Glover Quin, John McClain of the Chronicle says they're not tagging anyone.

We'll keep you posted as more news floats out.

William Gay's deal in his return to Pittsburgh is apparently for three years.

Dallas will release safety Gerald Sensabaugh.

New Orleans restructured the contract of old friend Brodrick Bunkley, converting much of his 2013 salary to a signing bonus.

Minnesota released WR Michael Jenkins.

Oakland re-structured the contract of right guard Mike Brisiel.

St. Louis is reportedly considering employing some real chicanery in their effort to keep WR Danny Amendola in the fold. They apparently want to apply a transition tag to a tight end. Clearly, the NFLPA would have none of that.

The Niners are expected to release kicker David Akers within the next week.

Jason Cole hears the Cowboys are interested in adding DT Amobi Okoye, who will be just 26 years old during his seventh NFL season.
