As has long been expected, the Falcons are expected to announce on Tuesday the hiring of Seahawks DC Dan Quinn as their next head coach. Denver was said to be very interested in Quinn after they fired John Fox, but once Gary Kubiak expressed his willingness to interview for the job, the respective hirings of Quinn and him became virtual inevitabilities.
While Quinn is walking into the rare situation where there's already an established quarterback in Matt Ryan, the team's first draft class of his tenure may soon be short a pick. The NFL is investigating allegations that the Falcons pumped crowd noise into the Georgia Dome during opponents' drives over the past two seasons. According to Adam Schefter, a fine and loss of a draft pick are likely punishments.
