McDermott to Carolina; Mora, Trgovac candidates

Sean McDermott has reportedly agreed to become Carolina's next defensive coordinator. That leaves former Falcons and Seahawks head coach Jim Mora and Packers DL coach Mike Trgovac as frontrunners to coordinate Denver's defense. Trgovac directed the Panthers' defense for John Fox from 2003 to 2008 before heading to Green Bay. Trgovac will be able to speak with other teams about employment for the 2011 season no matter the outcome of the NFC Championship game, as the extra week before the Super Bowl would provide a negotiating window even if the Packers were to advance.

Jay Glazer is reporting that Mora is headed to Denver tonight for an interview with Fox. Meanwhile, according to ESPN Adam Gase is interviewing for the Cowboys' vacant WR coaching position. Gase has been rumored to be taking over the Broncos' QB coaching position after Denver hired former Carolina assistant Tyke Tolbert to coach the wide receivers.
