Broncos to interview Teryl Austin on Friday

Denver is scheduled to interview Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin on Friday, according to Ian Rapoport. Austin met with Chicago earlier in the week and has/had a second interview with Atlanta on Wednesday.

What if the reason Denver hasn't approached any other coach is because they're going to hire Austin?

Broncos should be reticent to hire a first year coordinator. He has been a coach on championship teams, but I think that one season as a coordinator is too small a sample size to judge a coach's abilities.

I confess I was ignorant about him on the beginning, but with the possibility of Gase staying as OC and Manning coming back, and considering we'll have Brock as a starter after that, we'll need a stout defense, so our quarterbacks don't find themselves having to win s shootout, and a defensive HC might be money. And the more I read about him, the more I like him.

If he said anything other than it depends on where we are on the field and how far we had to go for the first down, I'd show him the door.

If you guys were Elway, what would be the first question you ask a coach in an interview?

Mine would be- ok Teryl, you just won the AFCCG, how do you prepare your tea, for the SB? If that doesn't tell Elway what he needs to know bout drive and fire, I don't know what will!
