Broncos re-sign Isaiah Burse to practice squad

The Broncos re-signed punt returner Isaiah Burse to their practice squad on Monday after he cleared waivers. Denver had cut Burse on Saturday to make room for Brandon McManus, who was promoted to handle kickoffs.

Burse takes the spot of offensive lineman Mark Asper, who had been signed to the practice squad three weeks ago.

Denver may need to clear another spot on the 53-man roster this week to activate Danny Trevathan from short-term IR. John Fox suggested on Monday that the team isn't yet sure whether it will activate Trevathan. But we're guessing the Broncos are waiting to see how Trevathan and Ronnie Hillman are looking before they cut either Todd Davis or Jeremy Stewart.

There was only one new injury on Sunday, as tackle Paul Cornick suffered a sprained toe. The ankle injury that caused C.J. Anderson to miss a few snaps apparently first occurred last week.
