Broncos place Vickerson on IR, add Fua

As expected, the Broncos have placed Kevin Vickerson on IR and replaced him with a veteran free agent.

Denver has signed DT Sione Fua (6-1, 310), a third-year player drafted by Carolina in the third round (97th overall) of the 2011 Draft.

The Stanford alum has 22 total tackles and one forced fumble in 27 career games (12 starts).

Injuries along their offensive line and exceptional depth on the defensive line spurred Carolina to switch Fua to guard three weeks ago, but they waived him just one week later.

Fua had failed to make the Panthers out of training camp, but they re-signed him in September following an injury to Dwan Edwards.

According to PFF, Fua played 53 snaps this season for a minus-1.5 grade, 256 last season for an atrocious minus-12.4, and a 408 snaps as a rookie for a minus-7.4 grade.

Fua will wear number 98 in Denver.
