Broncos officially request interview with Gary Kubiak

As expected, the Broncos have formally requested an interview with Baltimore OC Gary Kubiak, according to Adam Schefter. Kubes is seen by many to be the frontrunner for Denver's head job, given his close relationship with John Elway and long history with the Broncos as a player and coach.

Per Albert Breer, Kubiak will speak today with head coach John Harbaugh, presumably to discuss whether he'd like to pursue the Denver job.

Although he announced on Sunday that he would stay in Baltimore and pass on interviews with Chicago and the Jets, that was prior to the firing of John Fox.

Denver has already interviewed its own OC, Adam Gase, and is scheduled to meet with Detroit DC Teryl Austin on Friday.

Gase lost out to Jim Tomsula for the Niners job, and has also interviewed with Chicago and Atlanta. However, Denver may be his only real shot at a head gig. According to Mike Klis, he could also stick in Denver as OC, and the Rams have reportedly requested an opportunity to interview him about running their offense.
