The Broncos have re-signed DE Le Kevin Smith, who had played for Denver in 2009 and been cut following the 2010 preseason.
Smith was originally acquired by Denver in August 2009 from New England along with a seventh-round choice in exchange for a fifth-rounder. He was active in 13 games last season, starting in 2 of them. He was credited with 9 tackles, 1 assist, 1 sack and 1 pass defensed.
According to Jeff Legwold, the Broncos have brought Smith back in response to a shoulder injury suffered by Marcus Thomas in Denver’s 59-14 loss to Oakland.
Originally a 6th-round pick by the Patriots out of Nebraska, the 28-year-old Smith is listed at 6’1” and 310 lbs.
