Broncos attending special workout for Oregon safety John Boyett

According to Mike Klis, the Broncos will be represented at a special workout for Oregon safety John Boyett on Wednesday. According to the Sac Bee, scouts from a dozen or so teams will be in attendance, including the Raiders and 49ers.

Boyett was lost for most of his senior season after undergoing surgery to repair partially torn patellar tendons in both knees last fall.

While Klis writes that Boyett did not participate at combine, the free safety did put up 27 reps on the bench in Indy, which was the second best figure among defensive backs. Because he wasn't yet recovered from his knee operations, Boyett did not run at the combine, which is what we'll generously assume Klis meant.

Boyett also skipped on-field work at Oregon's pro day on March 14.

The 5-10, 204-pound safety was largely considered a mid-round prospect prior to his injury, but has since been labeled a seventh-rounder or undrafted free agent.
