Revis gets big bucks but no guarantees from Bucs, who give LOLJets #13 pick, conditional 2014 pick

It took a while, but the LOLJets finally dealt star cornerback Darrelle Revis to Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Every party got what they wanted - that is, unless Revis was looking for a hefty guarantee as part of a new contract. Shockingly, the 27-year old will get absolutely nothing guaranteed, but his deal is worth $96M over six years.

Granted, the Bucs gave up Thursday's #13 pick, plus a 2014 fourth-rounder which becomes a third-rounder if Revis is on their roster on the third day of the 2014 league year, so there's zero chance they cut him this season.

Broncos attend workout by FSU’s Carradine

As they look to fill the void created by Elvis Dumervil's departure, it was reported last week that the Broncos have been researching Florida State defensive end Cornellius "Tank" Carradine.

But if Denver is to acquire the pass rusher, they may have to move up from the #28 pick, following an impressive workout today by the 6-4, 276-pounder.

His senior season was cut short by a torn ACL suffered in late November, but an intense rehabilitation with the same trainer who helped Adrian Peterson to his remarkable 2012 comeback season has Carradine nearly back to form.

Broncos reportedly interested in ODU safety Carvin Powell

According to Aaron Wilson, the Broncos and Dolphins have expressed interest in Old Dominion safety Carvin Powell.

Listed at 6-1, 205 pounds on his school profile, Powell was not invited to the combine, but performed at ODU's pro day on March 21 in front of representatives from a reported nine or ten teams.

Broncos’ 2013 schedule released

It's been known for some time now (March 19, 2012?) that the Broncos would be featured several times on national television this season; turns out they'll play under the lights five times in 2013.

As previously reported by Jason La Canfora, Denver will host Baltimore as the Thursday night season kickoff game on September 5 on NBC. The opener will be the Broncos' first chance to exact at least a measure of revenge on the team that unceremoniously dumped them from the 2012 playoffs.

It's become tradition for the defending SB champs to host the season opener, but a parking lot conflict (really) with the Baltimore Orioles made a Ravens home game on that Thursday an impossibility. Baltimore's only other national TV-worthy road opponents, at least from our standpoint, are Chicago and Pittsburgh.

Broncos will host Ravens in 2013 season kickoff

Revenge is a dish served best in the Mile High air, or something like that.

Broncos will host Wisconsin center Travis Frederick

According to Aaron Wilson, the Broncos are one of four teams (Tennessee, Chicago, Detroit) scheduled to host Wisconsin Badgers redshirt junior Travis Frederick in an official pre-draft visit.

The 6-4, 312-pound native of Sharon, WI, posted some ugly 40 times at the combine, but his agility and powerful blocking ability have him ranked among the top center prospects, and one expected to be selected on Day 1 or 2 of the upcoming draft.

Tony Carter signs ERFA tender

Tony Carter has become the fourth Bronco to sign his free-agent tender this offseason, following Lance Ball, Chris Clark, and Mitch Unrein.

As with Unrein's case, Carter's signing is pure formality, as the corner had no opportunity to negotiate or sign with other teams due to his exclusive rights status.

The FSU alum will turn 27 next month, and enters his fifth season in the NFL after not having been invited to the national scouting combine.

Report: Broncos visiting with VT tackle Vinston Painter

According to Tony Pauline, the Broncos are one of seven teams who are hosting or have hosted Virginia Tech tackle Vinston Painter. Also listed are the Chargers, Lions, Bucs, Giants, Jaguars and Bengals.

The 6-4, 306-pound right tackle, who is seen as a late-round pick at best, did not see significant playing time with the Hokies until his senior season, when he started all 13 games and was named an All-ACC Honorable Mention.

Mitch Unrein signs ERFA tender

In a pure formality, Mitch Unrein signed his $555K exclusive rights free agent tender today. The move was inevitable once Denver tendered him, because as a player with less than three accrued seasons, Unrein was not free to negotiate with any other teams.
