Dallas adds Mincey; Beason chooses Giants over Broncos

The Cowboys have quickly replaced DeMarcus Ware with former Jaguars and Broncos DE Jeremy Mincey.

According to Alex Marvez, Mincey signed for two years and $4.5M, including $2M guaranteed.

Schefter:  Ware, Broncos agree

Adam Schefter is reporting that the Broncos and DE-OLB DeMarcus Ware have agreed to a three-year, $30 million contract, with $20 million guaranteed.

This sounds like another good deal for the Broncos, but we'll see how the particulars break out.

Schefter is reporting that Ware will make $13 million this year, which makes the backside of the deal sound pretty palatable.

Schefter: Broncos agree with Aqib Talib

Adam Schefter reports that the Broncos have agreed with former Patriots corner Aqib Talib on a six-year, $57M deal that includes $26M in guarantees.

This would presumably take them out of the running to re-sign Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie or pursue Darrelle Revis.

We'll be interested to see how much of that $26M is fully guaranteed (our guess is around half).

Byrd lands in New Orleans

The Saints have reportedly agreed to terms with former Bills safety Jairus Byrd to the tune of $28M guaranteed and $54M over six years. Of course, the real question is how much is fully guaranteed.

Eight of PFF's top ten ranked free agent safeties have already signed new deals, with Chris Clemons and Ryan Clark the only exceptions.

Report: Bucs to sign Verner

According to beat man Rick Stroud, the Bucs have agreed to terms with former Titans corner Alterraun Verner.

Verner had been rumored as a fallback for Denver, should they be unable to re-sign Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.

Lammey: Cowboys interested in Woodyard, Ayers

According to Cecil Lammey, the Cowboys have expressed interest in Denver defenders Wesley Woodyard and Robert Ayers.

Woodyard is scheduled to visit the Patriots tomorrow and will later meet with the Titans, according to Josina Anderson.

Bears cut Peppers, adding to available veteran pass rushers

The Bears have released 34-year-old pass rusher Julius Peppers; he joins fellow thirtysomething sackmasters Jared Allen and DeMarcus Ware on the open market.

He was due to make $13.9M in salary and command a cap number of nearly $18.2M; the move provides Chicago with more than $9.8M in relief.

Peppers graded out at -4.4 over 865 snaps last season; Allen -4.0 over 1,083; Ware was good for +12.6 over just 648 snaps.

Broncos to sign T.J. Ward with $14M guaranteed

According to Adam Schefter, the Broncos will sign former Browns safety T.J. Ward.

The Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot reports that Denver landed the 2013 Pro Bowler for an average of just $5.5M per year.

Gibbs again leaves Broncos

SB 32/33-winning line coach Alex Gibbs has again left Denver's coaching staff. He will be replaced by former USC, Tennessee Vols, and Raiders assistant James Cregg, who will assist line coach Dave Magazu.
