The IAOFM staff discuss the Denver Broncos' 17-10 Week 10 victory over the Chiefs in Kansas City
Doug: I wish there weren't so many 1pm games today, but at least there's some good ones later
Ted: Yeah, there's a ton of them. Macatee and Tasker today... that's not so bad. If the Broncos win today, all four teams will be 2-2 in the division. That really makes it anybody's to take. I think maybe Tasker doesn't get how the Zone Read works. The defense always makes the choice for the QB. That's the whole idea. According to Vic Lombardi, Quinn is the #2 QB today, for whatever interest that's worth. Look at Prater wearing sleeves on a 67 degree day. Kickers! Cassel runs at the first sign of pressure
TJ: I forget how mobile Cassel is sometimes
Ted: Where have we heard that? Ugh... Ron Winter is the ref. This is the most ticky-tack crew in the NFL. Von!
TJ: Just relentless beating of the double team
The IAOFM staff discuss the Denver Broncos' 38-24 Week 9 victory over the Raiders in Oakland
Doc: Hi, folks
Ted: Happy Sunday, guys
Doug: Hey guys - lots of boring football so far today. 6 of the 7 losing teams have 13 or fewer points, and the other has 16 - and only one game closer than 10 points
Ted: Yeah, it seems like it. I was at a Browns watch party a little while ago, and they had a couple of other bad games on too. Hopefully this game is more interesting
Doc: I saw a headline to the extent that Cleveland is getting tired of Hillis and might even let him go. Any truth, or just media pandering?
Ted: It's been the word on the DL around here all season
Doug: Lombardi says part of Denver trading him was because of the same stuff
Ted: The thing about White Boy Day is that eventually tomorrow comes. He's a good player who does a couple things well and a couple poorly - that's been my take all the way
The IAOFM staff discuss the Denver Broncos' 45-10 loss to the Detroit Lions
Doc: Should be a nice homecoming for Tebow. I hope he steps up into it.
Ted: I'll be curious to see what they do with the offense. The reports had it being completely overhauled, but I don't think Jay Glazer would be qualified to speak on that.
Doug: I also don't think anyone would be telegraphing this kind of stuff
Ted: No, definitely not. I have suspected that there would be some tactical changes, but you can't change everything in one week.
Doc: What do you make of Fox's comment on using college plays?
Ted: I don't know if that's what he said, or if that's Glazer's characterization of what he said.
Doug: So, not only is Denver only dressing two halfbacks, but only one fullback - Quinn Johnson inactive
The IAOFM staff discuss the Denver Broncos' 18-15 comeback victory over the Miami Dolphins
Ted: WHO'S GOT TEBOW FEVER?
TJ: Schefter says Tony S. is playing for his job today. Sparano better have used the Tebow thing as bulletin board material. Otherwise, he should lose his job. I would give a hell fire speech before the game if I were Sparano, saying 1) Look at what they are saying!!! 2) They don't even care about you! 3) They care about some college player who thinks he's Jesus Christ Superstar, and then takes some chairs and smash them into Jason Taylor
Ted: I'll bet you Sparano doesn’t do that. He gives his usual execution speech. But it ain't going to matter if Matt Moore keeps playing like he's been playing
Doug: What's the point of firing him now? Unless Cowher is coming in right now, or someone like that? Otherwise you've got some interim coach for the last 10 weeks?
Ted: Yeah, Doug...Mike Nolan
The IAOFM staff discuss the Denver Broncos' 29-24 loss to the San Diego Chargers. Denver goes three and out on the first drive of the game
Ted: Marv Albert's toupee looks particularly striking today
TJ: I promise not to beat up Kyle too bad today, at least for one series. Kyle said on the pregame that they were going to run the ball with authority
Doug: Oh yeah? How? Oh, by using 3 tackles apparently
Ted: I think that SD's DL isn't so good this year. Decker needs to catch that pass
TJ: Well, this game could have started better
Doug: Yeah we can't afford to be losing the field position battle so badly - to anyone
The IAOFM staff discuss the Denver Broncos' 49-23 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Denver starts with a three-and-out and allows Green Bay a first down before stuffing them on 4th-and-1 from the Denver 12
TJ: Denver won the toss. So at least they can walk away from this knowing they won something today. Because they are about to toss their cookies. Nice to see Doom, and patience on the bootleg. No-huddle as we expected, and the Broncos did what we suggested, playing nickel. Two deep safety, Rahim Moore bit on the short route - bad, bad read by Moore. The CB is counting on help over the top there, which did not come
Doc: Vaughn has to bring up his tackling
TJ: I guess Moore didn't catch the two-deep part of the equation. First interesting call - go for it here?
Doug: Yeah why not? DAWK!
The IAOFM staff discuss the Denver Broncos' 17-14 loss to the Tennessee Titans
TJ: Is it just me or does Elway seem to need a million radio and TV shows?
Ted: I don't really have much of a sense of it, being out of the market. Is he doing a lot?
TJ: The dude sure does seem to need to be in front of the cameras. He has like 5 weekly deals. Perhaps the real appeal of Fox and Xanders is their deference to Emperor John
Ted: Part of Elway's job is definitely a sales job. They should be selling rebuilding more clearly, but I suspect that they think that Elway's love and goodwill will shield their secret rebuilding program
Doc: Is their rebuilding secret? I thought that Elway was pretty up front about a 3+ year rebuilding?
Ted: Em, I think their initial rhetoric suggested that, but that the messaging since then has strayed way away from it. Well, that's a bad start in staying on schedule
The IAOFM staff discuss the Denver Broncos' 24-22 victory over the visiting Cincinnati Bengals. Denver opens with a 15-play, 85-yard drive and scores on a Willis McGahee 1-yard TD run; 7-0 Broncos
TJ: I hope John Fox calls a great game. Last week was not pretty. He just admitted on pre game he abandoned the run too quickly. Good catch, Fox. Nothing gets by you. JD Walton needs to step up today. I'm beginning to start to wonder about that one.
Ted: All 3 interior guys do. They were all terrible last week
TJ: Broncos making good plays - used 22 look, now 21. Now 3rd and 3, and they used--smartly--113 package but went max protect with two outlets. A little stretch bootleg to Julius. Zane Beadles penalty - well he didn't have one last week, so get it out of the way, haha
Ted: Stop me if you've heard that one before
TJ: Doug, for the record, I think Eddie Royal goes off tonight. The Raiders play man, and with our play action Eddie will be able to use 2 moves
Ted: Yeah, Royal is a man-beater. That's the main reason I like him outside
Denver’s first possession ends with a punt; Oakland promptly fumbles the ball right back, but Denver settles for a 28-yard FG after taking over on the Oakland 15. 3-0 Broncos
TJ: Here we go! Double TEs, I guess they want to run
Doug: Wow nice little wrinkle - who ever game plans for Spencer Larsen in the passing game?
Ted: I like Lloyd in the slot on Huff... Huff sucks
TJ: Was that a 023? I haven't seen that ever in the preseason. Nice stuff, they've shown 4 different personnel packages on the first 4 plays
Ted: Wow, Clady got defeated there. Bad read by Moreno, too.
The IAOFM staff discuss the Denver Broncos' 26-7 preseason-ending loss to the Arizona Cardinals
Doug: Guys, which roster battles are you most interested in tonight?
Ted: S, CB, TE, OL, and RB. I'll be interested to see if Mohamed plays well and gives the team a reason to keep too
Doug: Which CBs do you think are on the bubble Ted? I assume Harris and Bing don't really have a chance, right?
Ted: I haven't seen much from them. I think they're trying to play on to the practice squad. I'd like to see strong play from both Cox and Thompson. If not, one of them might fall out in favor of a 5th safety
TJ: Rosario will be interesting too. I wouldn't have thought he'd be there on the bubble. But I wouldn't be surprised to see the Broncos keep more TEs and less RBs
Ted: Yeah, I could see that too TJ. Something like 3 TBs and 1 FB, with 4 TEs
